Thread: BARC worth keeping?

Why to keep the BARC Speeder:

+ Looks good. Best looking vehicle in the game. The Speederbike is iconic and looks good, but the devs many patches ago made its performance very underwhelming.
+ Performance is very good on level ground, but not as fast as a Swoop.
+ Ability to climb terrain is good.
+ Repairable with a BARC Refurbish Kit. Watch for and be loyal to an Artisan that provides these kits cheaply. Some will gank you for hundreds of thousands of credits.
+ If you're Imperial, having on Scout Trooper Armor with a White Trim / Black BARC Speeder looks DAMN good.
+ Once you sell it away or whatever, it is gone for good. You may very well have to do some ridiculous transaction to get one back.

The BARC is held in such high esteem that I have had offers to trade my BARC for someone's AV-21 w/ 1m extra credits... but once an AV-21 is destroyed, THAT IS IT.

Sorry, I don't need that money.

if this was way back when when credits were HARD to get then i was sell it right off the bat... but since u can grind pilot and get decent money fairly easily then i would keep it *shrugs* up to you... either have some fancy lookin car and be poor or have some crappy car but be rich =D

you dont need a repair kit to repair a barc.... just take it to the parking garage. i dont know why everyone keeps saying you need one of those kits. maybe that was the original idea but for now you dont need any such thing. and some guy just said it was slower than a swoop? i dont believe that is true either. i think its the fastest vehicle in the game. so yeah, keep it. you can make credits other ways and the barc is worth it to keep. there are many players who spend 5 million credits to get one, i think that should tell you somethin about its value to ppl.

The Refurbish Kit is for when it gets disabled... destroyed.

Everyone knows that you can repair the condition of the BARC at Vehicle Garages. I haven't tried it with Disabled BARCs, and I will not try with mine. Well, unless it really happens, LOL

Also, it is SLIGHTLY slower than a Swoop. Getting up in speeder groups from hunting groups makes you notice things in boredom.

You should keep your BARC.

The devs have made repair kits useless. The BARC CAN be repaired after being disabled at a garage. Just store it and take it to garage. It doesn't even cost any credits to make it come back to life when disabled.

the repair kit does have some value...it's good for in-the field repairs - say on dath. Since we only have 3 vehicle slots and some players have the other 2 slots filled with less repairable vehicles...the BARC is the best means for everyday transport. My AV-21 rarely sees the light of day...and my soon-to-be crafted jetpack won't either.

Some people think this is a bug and that to use the garage is an exploit. Yet it would be SO simple for the devs to fix, and it hasn't been!!

I think the garage fix is INTENDED!! And the repair kits are there for when you aren't around a garage (like in the middle of Dath and your only speeder was trashed - quick fix-up).

Though there have been people who didn't even know that BARCs could be repaired (either at the garage or by a kit)! Was always saddened to hear someone detroyed a BARC because it was disabled!

Multi-Player is what brings the SWG world alive (real people, other players, make SWG so wonderfully dynamic). I just don't treat SWG like it was a chat room, I don't play to socialize and I resent forced grouping!"

I know you dfecided to keep it, but I thought this dead hrose needed one last swift kick... Keep it!

I use it all the time. If you get ganked by a factional turret, fiesty NPC or alert Special Ops player, you can always repair it (for free atm, butthat will likely change). I am not sure why people keep saying it is a bit slower than a Swoop; it not. I have riden the BARC next to a swoop many times and we always stay the same distance away from each other. That is, until we hit a hill; I smoke the swoop everytime. And belive me, there are few places you will go where you will not run across a hill.

You can easily make what ever creds you are offered (and you will force another veteran into purchasing the TE, take that vets!).

If you do decide to sell it, look me up. I will give you 50K for it on the spot

actualy what he means is that you can repair it disabled at a garage with no cost of money so its free to repair once disabled. It is this way on test center anyway, seems to be a bug we have had awhile and devs don't seem to care or just don't know because they ignore or don't get our bug reports so if u take into consideration the free repairs ts apriceless bike. On tc i've repared my bike well over 50 times, when a near disabled bike would cost me 5k-6k to repair

(also barc has slower decay and cheaper repair)

50x5000=? any way that is alot of saved money on my part and that is just in the last few weeks. Since tc has only been able to clame vet rewards for about a month now
