Duty missions are the best source of BS ships. Tier 4 or 5 will drop the helmet, and the reason you've killed tons and tons withoug getting one is because its a very rare drop. All of my helmets have come from tier4 ships.

How many runs have you done on an escort mission? I've done 13 full transport runs with tier4s constantly coming.

ok where do i get the duty missions for the BS? i have done tons of duty missions and havent come across any BS yet

I don't do the Corsec escort, too slow. I go to the RSF trainer in theed palace when Im on my Neutral pilot, or I go to the Arkon's Havok trainer with my Rebel pilot. Trainers in your profession will give you Duty even if you're not in their squad.
PS took me 2 months of pretty dedicated hunting before I got my first.

What kind of missions do you take? Escort, destroy, etc?

It took me 5 Duty missions against T4 Black suns, as given by Arkon. Takesa bit of time, but I got a lot of parts i needed.

Anyone know the average of tier 4 and 5 Black Suns you have to kill to actually get a helmet? Cause I have been doing the missions in the back of the Theed palace for hours, up to my 12th mission, got over 2 mil from the missions today, and still no damned helmet, pretty soon Im going to be able to buy one LOL.....

Last I heard the odds were somewhere around 1:10,000.
That does not necessarily mean that after you kill 10,000 you'll loot one though.
Its more like a rule of thumb or something.
I'll let someone with a math degree explain probability better.
But hey, if it was easy to get, it wouldn't be any fun would it? Makes the hunt that much sweeter.

does this thing still drop at all? I've lost count of the number of times I've done the tier 4/5 black sun destroy duty mission from the chick at the back of Theed Palace and I still havent looted this helmet
