Im am a a TKA/Pistoleer/Smuggler. With the smuggler's dirty fighting tree will i be able to compete for NS loot, or am i even able to do a lot of damage?

There's plenty of low and mid-level NS which have about 25% resist to *ENERGY* damage (AR1 or AR2, I forget). Low blow + Last ditch with a good Rep or DE-10 would be great.

with tka or a striker pistol you can take on some high-lvl nightsisters since most have low resistance to kinetic

Yep, I took down an Elder with a Striker Pistol once. The stats on it was not better than 100-170 with slice/po. It took maybe 30min and I will never do it again.. 
I've been soloing different NS with my MP/BH3040/Nov.Fencer template and it works good, you just want to learn about different NS different vulnerabilities and remember to store your AV-21!

Last I checked elders had 100% resistance to kinetic damage unless their HAM dropped below 25k or similar. I doubt you took down an Elder with a Striker Pistol. I could be wrong...

As far as I know, most nightsisters have low resistante to kinetic (not the case of the elder, which is "vulnerable" to blast and energy I think. Using TKA you should be able to kill almost any of them easily (protectors, spellweavers, etc), and also the low-range ones, which are a piece of cake even using energy guns.

The others are right. Ive got the same template as the threadstarter mentioned, and i can kill off several NS at once, using TK specials.
The elderhas 100% kinetic resistance, though, so you're gonna have to switch to a pistol (Energy, to be exact).
The DE-10 is AP 1, btw.

You are correct.. the elder has 100% resists to kinetic. It is relativelyvulnerable to blast and energy, lightsaber also
. The elders are a lot harder now that npc's can do special moves.. for me elders are pretty much impossible. Some of the other mightsisters are doable though.

Are nightsisters worth hunting these days? If you had the choice of running BH missions vs Nightsister hunting, which would you choose?

Im no BHer but from what I understand BH missions would be more Profitable/Rewarding
