Yes he does just a lowered drop rate

LOL! it isnt impossible to kill DJM npc, just get a realy good tank, a few mCMs a doc or 2 and a few rifleman and swordsman... Bring a pistoleer along too (master pistols 0-0-4-0 bh) and have him use eye shot

Try Corsair Captains on Lok. They drop some pretty nice attachments, many near or over +10. Take 13k or 12.9k missions or go to the POI.

lol I know its not impossible. But it goes faster when you have a jedi tanking due to they're the only ones with LS reist with out them you need 2 Commandos 1 Doc 1 CM 3 Defense Stackers Caped with melee def and enough exo protine wafers to choke a bantha
