Thread: Gorax shards.....HELP!
So um... is there a particular place where the gorax roam? (Goraxes? Goraxi?)
I'm in the same boat, want to get a shard to have an FWG made for me, not rich enough to buy outright. /shrug

Not hard too find at all, just roam around the desert like area on the northern part of Endor and you should bump into one, might have to use a slow vehicle or a pet to not miss them spawning, but should be much of a problem. I can easily find around 5-6 a night if I realy want too.
Also if there are no wildspawns what so ever in your current area, move away abit till spawns start showing again. You wont find Gorax either if there are no other spawns.
Use a macro like this:
HuntGorax
/tar gorax
/pause 1
/macro HuntGorax
Then just swoop about.The south eastern corner of the desert, above the POI there is a good area for them, but they can spawn all over the place up there.
I use the CM debuffs to kill them, Paralyze then Electrolyte Drain, warning shot, stopping shot, fire, poison and spam damage at them while kiting.
If I have to reapply the drain I use warning shot/stopping shot then run in and stick it back on.
Gorax range from 30k health to the big ones at 37.5k.

I killed my first gorax last night, but I died several times before i got my strategy down, I didn't loot any shards.
As for the issue of not being able to get his health down, its important that you put the gorax in as many states as possible. I'm a BH/CM and pisols 0001. I start off with stopping shot, I then paralyze, and then i apply electolyte drain and thyroid rupture. I then apply paralyze, and stick the fire and poison DoTs on him. The electrolyte drain and thyroid rupture will slow down his movement and attack speed, and the DoTs will cause a little damage. Now you can move away and continuously circle the gorax while applying states with your weapon I use torso shot, eye shot, and confusion shot. After that I spam Adv. Critical Shot. If the electrolyte drain and thyroid rupture wear off, use stoppingshot. This will give you a few seconds to stand still and fire or you can move in close to reapply the debuffs. REMEMBER that if you get within 10m of the gorax without him being rooted, you will probably die. The key is keep your distance at least 15m and to continually circle the gorax while firing.

Not worth it now. I'm a MBH/MCM and I've killed over 40 since publish 19 and haven't found shards on any, only 4 delicate trigger mechanisms. Compared to the 1 in 4 loot on gorax before I would safely assume they're broke. I've been wanting to make myself a new gorax tusken horribly with good shards. Would have with last batch only had enough to make a fantastic Czerka Carbine though =) Puts proton to shame like my elite does =)
I think you had some really bad luck. we looted shards on 2 out of6 over the weekend. a set of 70ish and a set of 150ish ones.
