The CURB is going to suck.Isee tons of people leaving.
The intent of the CURB is to retain and even return players to the game.
My opinion is that the change is going to be odd at first, and I just hope it isn't so difficult in the PvE world that you can't kill a Worrt without Bivoli buffs. I also fear that the difficulty of the PvE will increase in a blind, non-strategic fashion..for example, adding more HAM to certain NPC's and giving them ridiculous Force powers...oh, wait.......
The CU is just a way to weed out those annoying campers and POI farmers, WoW managed to take out all the other pain in the butt people who did nothing but whine in this game because their proffession wasn't the best. Now look at all the nerfing they are doing on WoW because of all the people that went there from here.

I say good ridance to those who leave cause they cant solo anymote. If they begin complaining about the changes, they should just leave, and play a single player 1st person shooter if they prefer playing games on their own.

I think that if the Developers nerf players in PvE the whole lot of them needs to be fired. With maybe a few exceptions (Like rancors and grauls). They need to be fired because they will be living in the pre wow mentality that stated that in order to have fun you had to adopt the everquestian hero is zero mentality.
Instead I hope that the developers learn the lesson of WoW. That lesson being that there is a time and a place for soloing and there is a time and a place for grouping. Neither should beexclusive to the other and both should be equally viable in this game. That being said, they have their jobs cut out for them. For one their track record isn't very good. Yet even with that track record there is reason to hope. I look to the recent changes, changes such as the removal of the group harvesting penalty. This is signficant because one of the reasons grouping failed so thoroughly here is that there was absolutely no incentive to group. Now we have incentive, so I am very hopeful. In addition recently SOE's president stated that they are playing WoW and were impressed with its innovations. I have played both and I know that WoW shattered any such notion that the soloer and the grouper needed to be at odds with each other. So I guess what I am saying is I am very very hopeful. I am hopeful because all the signs point in one direction a positive one.
A GCW update coupled with a meaningful CU could mean the revitilization of this game or the doom of it. If the devs recognized that what needed to be addressed was the PvP aspect not the PvE aspect (except that ranges should be just as effective if notmore effective at this then melee) then this game almost instantly is a competitor again with any game out there. After playing WoW and playing SWG for years there is one thing that SWG has going for it without question, that is layered details. WoW can't touch this game in terms of economy and social aspects. It can't touch SWG at all in fact it can't compete even at a basic level. So, lots of reasons to be hopeful instead of pessimistic at this point, here is to hoping.
Nice post man...really well put. I agree that SWG is very deep and layered..almost every time I log in, I have to decide what I am going to hunt, what vendor to move or update, what guild mates to help or chat with, etc...just tons and tons of stuff that I find to do.
Here is to hoping that they still allow me to hunt solo...really, because different time zones and play styles prohibit grouping for me sometimes, and the game will be ruined for me if I can't hunt when I want to hunt.
