Maybe its just a really rare drop?
no, it doesn't drop anymore. That guy musta been mixed up. The "vid screen" is a component of the deadeye decoder and none of its components have dropped for a very long time. If anyone should know, its me. I regularly scour the galaxy wide vendor search for extinct items.

When you place a tent, and then go to disband, is the vid screen u clik on the one your asking about? If so, they do NOT drop. They were able to be picked up by clicking and then typing /pickup but that bug was fixed long ago. So that is how they are out there. If you dont see them on the vendor search, that mean, no one is selling them /stored on vendor. But I have 4 of them paid a nice penny for each one to.

just cause you got one doesn't mean they drop. My point about the vendor search was that there would be more for sale if they still dropped. I've only seen one for sale in the past month or so. And none of the other deadeye decoder components which are translation circuitry, data reader housing, power core, micro-processor core, optical reader, and vid screen.
none of them have dropped for a long long time. Don't come here saying otherwise unless you have some actual proof.

if the name of the item is "vid screen" then its the deadeye component. I don't think the camp version (which has the same art) is called "vid screen" too.

You got a picture of the vid screen in question? Perhaps that will settle the issue.
Had I known the level of skepticism I would meet from you, I would have taken a screenshot. As it is, I will stand by my assertion.

Nick, "A Vid Screen" is an object that looks exactly like the little interface on scout and ranger crafted campsites that allow you to see how long the camp has been up, how many people visited, and allows you to disband the camp manually. It has a squareframe with a rounded top and a transparent insert with a design inscribed on it, sitting on a stand that angles the screen slightly like a video monitor.
What I've been looting from Meatlumps and other such mobs is "A Broken Viewscreen" which is a gray or tan object that looks kinda like a PDA or Gameboy. No stand, no transparent insert, just a rectangular block.
Here's a link: A Vid Screen
The objects are very different.
