Thread: Is it just me or do looting macros no longer work?

I just noticed it seeming to not work this morning...

They are definitely running slower. Also I found if you are part of a solo grp you will have issues looting npc's. But the minute I disband I was able to loot fine.


Maybe this is another SOE attempt at making us run together in packs...dunno.

Hmmm...so they doo work, but they /loot command takes a while?

the fastest thing is act using the radial menu... a /loot hotkey is relativ fast aswell (note not macro, just hotkey)

I haven't been able to get my /loot hotkey to work at all unless I'm in the same area as the leader if I'm in a group.

This is because of the group looting rights. If the group leader is the Master Looter (default) then no one but the leader can loot. If you get in a solo group make sure the leader has set the looting to Free-For-All.

It's funny to see the piles of player corpses at static NPC spawns. Apparently, some players haven't figured out that they can't AFK macro anymore.

It still doesn't work for me...our guild has a group solo group and I talked to the guy and he said that its free for all and no master looter. Other people in the group say their /loot hotkeys work, but mine doesn't.

I don't think it has anything at all to do with looting itself. What I've noticed is AFK combatno longer works. If you're marked "AFK", then your attacks don't land -- they enter the combat queue, and the queue empties, but the attacks don't actually get performed. In testing, I had several mobs surrounding me, and they were "red". Several more ran up, still "yellow". I toggled afk, and performed several attacks on the yellow mobs, and some unarmedspin2's. They stayed yellow, and my combat channel didn't log anyswings by me at all. I toggled afk off, and immediately the attacks started landing and the yellow mobs aggro'd red.

A stealth fix that marks the end of afk looting.. not a bad thing by any means.

You'll be seeing alot of that, I think. The devs are slowly taking away the things that people have abused, namely repeating macros. No more buffbots, no more spam toons, no more AFK camping. AFK fighting was only intended to keep you from dying if you had to go take a poop anyway, not as a method of playing the game. I never really understood that anyway..........pay $15 a month to let the game play itself? Crazy.
