Thread: Pearl drop indicative of global loot problem
What changed was that combat upgrade altered the levels of creatures. So where a pearl might before have been considered "premium" because it dropped from a level 287 creature, now it isn't considered premium because the creature dropping the pearl isn't level 287 any more.So, a high level creature that was re-balanced to a much lower level is now dropping loot at the bottom-end of its loot table.
It's fairly obvious to loot hunters in this game that this "change" affected all pre-CU high-level mobs. Nightsister Elders, SMC Councilwomen, DWB Wraiths, etc. are all dropping near-garbage for their difficulty.
This probably explains why CL82 missionable Aakuan missions had decent loot before the path; an opposite effect where a traditionally low-level mob that had its level increased.
The only real loot-droppers now are MBH elites which were recently created with their own levels and loot information.

Well for one thing I'll say that the current creature/npc levels really need some adjustment.
My favorite example. Nightsister levels. They don't even make sense anymore considering you have Elders frankly quite near the bottom of the scale but with the most hitpoints out of all of them.
Plus why change the levels at all just because some players are farming certain npcs?
If they were sooo concerned about DJM/DJK farming, TURN THE FREAKING QUEST OFF. They still spawn randomly elsewhere. And they are still killable. Moreso now. Hah. Except the loot is harder to get and certain items aren't in the tables anymore.

An elite loot hunting player is still an elite loot hunting player. I'll still kill pretty much whatever I damn please. Frankly it took a lot of work and time to get to wear I am, and retooling my setup because of CU didn't help either.
Don't expect to step off the shuttle in Mos Eisley and be uber in 2 weeks. Go cry about it. I'm tired of being nice for the socialist whiners.

The CL 111 mobs on Dantooine (the "Islanders") are now CL 82. Whereas they used to drop "Quality" crystals, they now drop "Good" crystals.
Thinking more on this it explains how mobs that were not adjusted with the CU (Aakuans in the cave, Force Crystal Hunters) would still drop similar items from their pre-CU loot tables. Furthermore if you could increase the CL of these, like taking CL 82 Aakuan missions, you would actually get higher loot table items.
CL system is a hack. This really shows how little went into adjusting creatures and NPC's for the CU.
well i hate to throw my 2 cent's in but i just have to after going to a meetup.....they have not removed any of the high end loots ie. flawless pearls they're just so far down on the loot tables because of the % to loot them is about as high up as winning the lottery.....and i looted a flawless last night btw....took 200+ ancient's to do it but i got one and it tuned perfect
personally i'm fine with the current system....good pearls can still tune like prems it just takes some...what's it called? oh yeah WORK....i myself have gotten many good loots of everything in the game....anyone that thinks that everyone should be the most uber person in the game is just plain stupid...jedi have had their profession nerfed so much it's a joke at how hard it is to become a full template...now all it takes is alot of work to get a good saber. Bring up all the veteran Jedi all you want (like myself) but we've been playing longer...we spent all the time in the graveyard looking for dragons for days on end and never able to find one so our great sabers are due to hard work and unlocking through that hard work...that's all there is to it

No problem, I lot of people miss it. I didn't learn that the core system correspondent is in charge of loot drops until just a few weeks ago myself.

You looted a flaweless pearl. Well i think your the only one as i along with many other of my guildies and friend have done 1000s of krayts since the cu and i can tel you this.
I used to tank ancients with a friend pre-cu and this was so much easier then looting a prem! you sir either are one of the luckiest people in the game right now or you are full of sh.t
yet again you set the example of my frustration within the jedi community. wha wha this and wha wha that and i ground this and i looted that.. and you only unlocked post cu.......

Yes i am lucky because it's random loot....remember that word? I've never looted an exceptional weapon but i know tons of ppl that have looted multiples of them before
And i'm not a post CU jedi i'm a prepatch 8 jedi, so i don't care about any of these new jedi unless they're in my guild.....jedi is a joke of a profession now a days and takes little to no work to actually accomplish asa profession....they jsut shifted the work of grinding jedi to collecting and tuning pearls.
and no i'm not lucky that i looted i was fortunate to have looted a very hard item to get (that is still lootable confirmed by the SOE team themselves)....on a side note do you think that someone looting 1 flawless matters to them if they have a house that's full of precu flawless pearls? no...i'm just informing the community as to the TRUTH behind pearls and why they're not dropping. Case in point....remember when NS elders were worth killing? rememeber when they droped +25 attachment's every 1000 or so kills? yeah it's like that only with pearls and dragons and multiply the % to drop higher than a good way up on the board...
Dont' get upset at me cause i'm satisfied with the current system....When you become a "full temp jedi" you'll feel the same way i do about all these new jedi griping every 5 seconds about something new and the same sh.t every day about old news..

There is no way you looted a flawless pearl from anything in game.
And I hope they do fix the loot drops soon. It is now pointless to try and kill high end mobs with how hard they are now and get nothing for it. Especially for a non bh profession.
