Thread: New SEA Proposal: Let's give the Loot AFK'ers the BOOT
recursive macroing is supposed to have been gone a long time ago
but i think thats an inelegant solution, theres reasons to legitimately use recursive macros (like I use one to /targ star ravager;/tar self) so that when I'm waiting for a vette spawn,i'll get a beep-beep repeating when it comes in
I like the idea if timedcamps. If you're ATK, you can always run back down. I dont like the idea of stripping your loot if you dont make it out in time, though.
I think the best solution is simply to reduce the number of commands that will clear you from AFK status to the arrow keys. You dont use the arrow keys (or mouse) to move, your AFK timer keeps clicking. Maybe make an exception for entertainers and add dancing and playing to AFK-clearing, they're the only players that have a legitimate reason not to move
But if a campbot cant keep itself from going AFK, they'll get logged off in 30 minutes anyway.
You could have it so that if you get logged off in a dungeon, you get sent back to the top of the dungeon upon your next login. That would help with people who camp spots like the borgle caves and nyax (or at least the way they used to) as well, and make sure they dont just use a login script to go back to AFK camping.
I like these ideas. Especially the execution wall. ![]()
If we can only get a Dev in here to listen. Tiggs? TH? You out there?
Here's an idea that i belive will solve the AFKer problem. AFK should be all but banned from all loot drop areas. If your charachter goes AFK, for even a second, you should get booted from the game. No excemptions.
It will make people thing twice about setting your macro in motion, and walking away fromt the keyboard.

Here's an easy way for the devs to fix it... remove the ability to have a macro or command trigger a toolbar button. No more looping macros.
I've thought about this, but it would affect pretty much every profession, especially our crafters. They have a lot of clicking to do.
Yes... I mastered Architect pre-Gungan statues, tailor and shipwright (though shipwright is really pretty easy) without recursive macros. I had to hit the button to trigger the macro each time... it may not be quite as fast, but then again crafting just takes a little lag to throw the timing off.

What Caidoz proposes with the time restrictions willprobably fix annoying campers.
For once I'd like to visit Nyax, kill him and go. Without seeing about 3-5 other ppl, the same ppl, sitting there day in day out.
