You missed the point of the CU change for entertianers.
By removing buffs that improve player combat ablities dev no longer need to design the system to work for buf and un-buffed players, player no longer need to worry about lossing thier buff in the middle of a tuff fight, etc etc etc.
There are other "Better" ways to make masters better then novice, exp. master dancer couldgive merchant buffs and/or musicans could give a buff for mining sampling.

My main issue is the fact that there is no way for an entertainer to with hold a buff from somebody like in the current system. Sure the current system is poorly designed, but at least it stopped people getting free buffs. If they don't change that the "real" entertainers will be even more screwed over by buffbots.

The 10% buff is a base entertainer skill. According to a recent post by one of the devs, entertainers who can interact with their clients, read AT THEIR KEYBOARDS, will be able to do better buffs. The dev also stated that they are dealing with buffbots with a carrot rather than a whip. Perhaps they're working on mechanisms to prevent the better buffs from being afk'd, or perhaps one has to be ATK to actually collect money for the buffs.
Either way, the buff is not something that overly concerns Image Design, and the dancer/musician/entertainer boards have quite a few threads devoted to the Combat Upgrade.
