Hmm... I personally would rather like to see an implementation where ID and customer work together in a direct diaglogue to ID the vendor in question. Pre-designed vendors being "sold" on the bazaar sounds a bit too much like slavery to me... but on the other side it would definitly be a system that would work.
What's wrong with slavery?
hehehe (think of it as you are helping NPC vendors find work
)
You still would have the option of working with the merchant in a direct dialogue, but the merchant would come to your salon. Merchant could email special orders, or buy off the rack.
I guess there must be a problem with making a "IDer, NPC vendor and merchant" UI, or I think they would have done it by now, so this "may" be easyer for them to do?
Also this would give Salons a reason to be up and running 24/7, even when the IDer is not there. Which I think may be the reason we don't have PC salons.

any way is fine but i have always thought it would go as so, 1 a merchant places a vendor as usual, places items in it and sell stuff. 2) i he or she gets tired of how their vendor looks the go to a salon (or needing a newer way of findind of MId's- also somthing needed in the game) find the id tell them i want you to Id my vendor. they would talk about a price then go to the house where the vendor lives. the image designer would need somsort of oking. like the owner of a vendor would see a message like " Mr. Id smith is trying to image design your vendor, click ok to continue" the image designer would see a message your request has been accepted. then the image designer would bring up a radicle menu on the vendor, they would click image design. the owner the one who just accepted the im change would see a screen like the one they see when a im is changing them, but the one they would see being changed would be the vendor. The owner would go on telling the ID what they want it to look like, then tip if the ID wants a tip (most will). the the image designer clicks accept and the owner clicks ok, suddenly the vendor changes to how they wanted it to. they bow and thank, and the im leavs to the next vendor or gos back to the salon.

I think that is how everbody has thought of it really. What sir_voor is saying is that maybe the reason this hasnt been introduced is because it would be too difficult or impossible to implement in this way. Would be nice to get some response from the devs to find out if this is the case or not.
That way you wouldn't always have to travel to the merchants location - they could bring the vendor to your salon. If they want more than one of course it is more efficient to be on location near their house terminal.

To add to this idea, tailors have wanted mannequins for the longest time. Wouldn't it be great for ID's to make and sell mannequins to show off outfits (which basically look like vendors but are non-functional)?
I like that idea even better.

That's sort of how I envisioned it working all this time. Basically the merchant would see the screen exactly as a regular customer would, except it would be the vendors body. I really hope they implement something like this someday, because then they could use the same code to create ID missions also.

I was wondering if it would be possible for our interface to detect a vendor the merchant has in his/her inventory (they can only have one I believe) and ID it from there with both merchant and ID seeing the interface, the same way a regular ID session goes?
