I'm not an Image Designer, (though I have played with it in entertainer) but I absolutelyLOVE the idea from a game design POV, and as a player, I respect all of you who've enjoyed it enough to stick with it. (Seriously)

Just got done reading your 10 questions and the Dev's responses.

Here is my suggestion, and before you flame, please read the whole post... then flame.

Image Designers, and ONLY image designers be given the abilty to move ojects up and down and rotate them backwards and forwardsin houses.

"HE'S MAD!" You say! Hear me out....

1) Image Designers would get a HIGHLY desirable skill in game. Something that's not competeing with the character creation process.

2) This would take nothing away from the rest of the players. They would retain what they have now. Moving stuff in a single plane, plus the stair bonus. If you look at objects in some of the decorated NPC houses in the static cities on Tatooine though, you see that you can do a lot with up/down and rotating objects. Any architect can fill a house with furniture, but it would take an Image Designer to make it look nice.

3) It would allow your class to continue to be what it currently is, a uniquely creative class, dependant upon the players own creativity and wits to make money. No crafting, no demand for involvement in the GCW.

"You're a moron." You say. "This has nothing to do with characters apperances!" Well, no, it dosen't. However, design is design, and I bet a lot of the players that are attracted to image designaretappingthe samecreative vein asplayers that want to do some serious interior decorating. Yhea, you can take the stock character creation face, but if you want to look GOOD, you go to an Image Designer. Same deal with furniture is all I'm saying. You can throw down a chair and a table, but if you want to turn those end tables into knick knack shelves, then you're going to need an Image Designer.

Yes, this would attract some more people into your profession thatare not interested in changing peoples appearances. However, I would wager the increased player interaction would increase the demand for regular Image Designing to go up as well. The thing that made me seek out my first ID was seeing someone run by with a haircut I knew didn't come from character creation. (A mohawk, as I recall.) More people interacting with more image designers, running around with more advanced haircuts, is just going to be more exposure and advertising for your class, I think.

Don't get me wrong, I love being an architect, and look forward to the day when more refined object placement controls are in the game. It'll make my furniture sell better. However, ID is the only class that no one ever really is pushed to interacting with for any reason. Seems a shame, I think you guys do a great job andneed to be given more of a reason to be sought out.

Whaddya think?

It's an interesting idea for sure But I think we would be driven completely insane by people not being quite able to make up their minds Not to mention we're pretty rare, it might be frustrating trying to find an ID'er for emergency object placement.

Another foreseeable issue would be the fact that to move any objects within a house, you have to be admin'd. It's too ripe an opportunity for someone to "lose" those ultra-rare items instead of doing their job.

Interesting idea and is really think outside the box.

The problem I see with it is that I fear it wouldput IDers in /tell hell, and many players feel this is something all players should have had in the first place. Also it would require the ID to travel to their house, which sets up the opportunity for griefing.

Mahaha, I'll give an IDer the location tothe dragon grave yard and tell him my house is there.

P.S. To whomever 1stared, lets not start 1staring around here

hmf, the problem with your idea is you're thinking too much in terms of more more!! however, our profession would like to stay at a minimal. I think I speak for us all when I say that we don't want a ton of people flooding and grinding at ID just so they can move items in houses for people or any other petty idea like that. I've heard many fellow IDers say that we don't want ID to turn into an entertainer skill like musician or dancer because It makes us mad when we see people grinding ID xp on their friends just so they can change their own appearance.

While I like the idea of being able to move things up and down as a special skill, I think it would be more fitting somewhere in the interior design tree of architect.

Still a good idea, though
