I think Image Designers should be able to remove TEF. Here's the scenario: Bad guys are chasing me... quick! change my hair color.... ah, fooled them!
Also, Master Image Designers should be able to lower the "visibility" of jedi characters to help them avoid having bounties placed on them.

Hey that is a good idea as long as there are some balances to it, I can imagine people greifing with an ID in tow. Maybe the skill level of the image designer determines how many minutes the TEF gets reduced. Or perhaps there is a rare chance that ta novice will do something that ends up making you stick out more and the TEF lasts a bit longer.
Stormtrooper 1:Where did that smuggler go?
Stormtrooper 2: Not sure, but he looked a bit like that guy with the pink hair.
Stormtrooper 1:Thats Him!
Stormtrooper 2 (into conlink): All imperial troops, be on the lookout for a smuggler in Mos Eisly with pink hair!

I don't think griefing would be too big of a problem. An Image Designer has to group with you to do the ID, so if you have a TEF, doesn't that mean that the Designer can get attacked while grouped with you?
If there is some risk that the ID might get attacked or get TEF, then it will be less likely to get abused.

You do not get a TEF just for being grouped with an overt of the same faction.
I like the idea of the time reduction and possibility of a failure, as there is no chance of failure in this profession.
If the TEF were to spread, that would reduce griefing, because the ID has to take the time to ID themselves to remove the TEF from themselves... or something...
This is a great concept. If I'm runnin from the po-leece and I can't get into my house, an ID should be able to remove my TEF so I can get in and hide
There should definately be a downtime of at least 30s between TEF recieve and TEF clear. If not, then people would just attack stormies, get un-TEF'd, then attack, etc.

Yes, as long as there is some risk to the ID (hopefully not TOO much risk) or maybe a time limit, then the TEF removal power can't be abused.
Perhaps instead of removing TEF entirely, an ID could reduce the timer for the TEF. The time reduction could be based on the skill level of the ID. So for example, a Novice ID could change a 5 minute TEF into 4 minutes, but a Master ID could drop it down to just 1 minute of TEF.
I'm sure something could be worked out to make ID more useful to other players besides just for vanity. There are some other threads that talk about using ID to remove bad faction rating, in case you made Lady Valarian a little too angry, or whatever. I really like the idea that ID could be useful to the combat-type people.

Come on. A TEF lasts 5 minutes. 5. Are you people really that impatient? You got the TEF for a reason. Deal with it. Don't like TEFs? Don't participate in the GCW. (Yes, I'm sounding very cranky, but you have no idea how many times I've seen this idea and I still have yet to see one good reason that IDs should want it implemented—so I can save some 10 year old commando's butt? No thanks.)

No Thank You!
Removing TEFs would completely change our playstyle, IDs would end up being a combat support profession like combat medics. To do it right you would need to be a part of a combat group traveling with them and having combat skills yourself so you don't die every few seconds. which would happen anyway once the other side relaise your TEF Debuffer. The hole idea of thier beingany TEF remover is a joke, it would completely undermind the GCW system.
