How cool and Image Design, I thought you would enjoy it!
Just got a cool story to share for all you fellow IDers.
So, I'm casually racing around on my bike bringing swift death to all of Jabba's enemies one day (ok, as swift as can be brought by a novice marksman...) and I get what seems to be a standard tell for an image design session. Having hunted for long enough, I was ready for a bit of a break, so we agreed on a place to meet and all was hunky dory. We meet in the starport, and she's a rather attractive looking Human woman with a nice share of combat capabilities.
At this point, I still believe this will be a fairly standard job. Maybe she needs a weight tweak or wants a new hairstyle.
Oh no, this was something entirely different.
Apparently this attractive woman hangs out with a group of guys for hunting and whatnot. Being a female among the combat professions, she got a good deal of attention, and decided it was time for a little... joke. *insert evil chuckle here* Adopting the "shock and awe" philosophy, she felt like it would be fun to give them a bit of a scare and show up with the most horrendously ugly look possible.
And, whoa, by the time we finished her new "look" I was at awe with the destructive powers Image Designers truly possess! Imagine, if you will, a woman whose face is set to maximum age, maximum sized lips of a bright, lime green shade, the same lime green eyeshadow, huge droopy eyes, maximum sized dumbo ears, and that nasty snake-coil type hairstyle (which was the first time I'd ever actualy used it!). And her body was set at minimum torso and maximum weight and all plopped into a cute exotic leotard. This...creation...that we dreamed up still gives me nightmares!!!
This was all yesterday. Today she let me know that the prank had been a shining success (she warned me that her hunting buddies might try to hunt me down...), and we had a nice time getting her back to her original, beautiful self. All in all, it just reaffirmed to me why I do this job. While I wont pretend the 100k tip wasnt nice, it was just a lot of fun! Challenges like this, and the full knowledge that there will be more, are what keep me doing ID (Go male IDers!!!!)
Case in point: non-IDers that may be reading this, feel completely free to work with us in the most imaginative ways possible! Everyone will walk away happier and better off. IDers, remember how blessed we are to have such a cool profession. Even if weaponsmiths make more money, I very much doubt that they have even half as much fun as we do interacting with their clients. Despite all the bugs, remember and appreciate the new and fascinating opportunities that we have in Galaxies as Image Designers. Its was a new and risky concept, and I believe that it worked out fabulously. I love Image Design!
