I was working on iD on myself, and i get a message saying I already have an offer to ID myself. So acording to what ive read, all i need to do is ID once on someone else, except i tried that and it dont work.

now i have to wait for a server reset before i can continue? is this right?

I have had this problem a few times also. I have noticed it happens when i am id'ing someone and hit alt which leaves the id box open and then board a shuttle(if id'ing myself or someone else) or I go out of range of a the target i am id'ing. I have also been able to reset my character by shutting down for about 20 minutes.

Hey, Daynk. Lemme explain. When this bug occurs, you can get rid of it by doing this: target someone else and type /image. Once the ID box comes up, switch the target to yourself and finish the ID job. That SHOULD fix it. Otherwise, it's only fixable by server reset or a long logout. The best way to know if you've been completely logged out: group with someone you talk to outside the game, and then quit the game. Once you're logged out of the group, you know your info has been backed up and you're completely out of the server. After that, you SHOULD be able to log back in and the problem should be fixed.

Hope this helps. If it doesn't, get with me in gatchat or shoot me an email.

From the FAQ (stickied above):

Q: my partner has an outstanding image design offer. What is that and how do I fix it?

A: That usually happens when you spam a macro too quickly for your partner to keep up with accepting, or when one of you goes LD during a design. The following fix may work, but this is a tricky and annoying bug.

  • If your partner has an outstanding offer:

    • target self using control-1
    • type /im
    • target partner
    • type /imagedesignSetValue blah blah
    • partner accepts

  • If you have the outstanding offer

    • target partner
    • type /im
    • target self using control-1
    • type /imagedesignSetValue blah blah
    • you accept

Note this doesn't end the bug, it just passes the bug. The only known fix is a server reset.

thanks for the input

Actually, your original post only stated that you ID'd someone else. Did you go through the complete process? Initiate the session on someone else, but actually perform the ID work on yourself?

That's the trick. Regardless if it's your or your client that has the outstanding offer, you have to initiate the session on 1 side and complete it on the other side to clear the bug. If you followed all the steps, then it is the first time I have ever seen the process fail, and I've helped many a new IDer clear this issue in game. I'm not saying that there's not exceptions to the rule, and yours maybe that case, I"m only saying that it'd be a first that I'm personally aware of.

I've heard SEVERAL people say they are unable to clear the bug from themselves using this method. That may be the problem. I've never had this happen to me, so I don't know from personal experience. /shrug

Has anyone out there been able to clear it from themselves using this method? If so, please explain to me step by step what you did to remove it, because I have been instructing people to try it and it always just ends up changing me instead.
