Thread: I feel like a Necromancer....
Ani has been stark white since the option has been ingame
Would like her bald to but Zabs have horns so she has the 'mohawk' style
I think the white skin is great, if it isn't a fad.
For me it has zero to do with goth or vampirellas
it has to do with the fact of some image I have in my mind of what I wish I could make Ani become...
about two heads taller, bald, peirced, tats on the entire backside of her body, andd of course her arm ![]()

Ouch
I cringe in anticipation when a Zabrak male walks up. I am pretty sure he's going to pick the demon horns and black skin, with the Darth Maul tat in red, or white skin, and the Skullface tat in black. However, if it's in character and not just the Goth fad thing, then it can be fun.
I have a friend who is a master BH that wanted to look like the Grim Reaper. White skin, black skullface tat. Black hooded cloak, black shirt and skirt. And he was carrying a scythe. And thin and tall. We couldn't decide if he looked more like the Grim Reaper or Skeletor!
He was scary-looking when we were done. Exactly the effect he was looking for as a BH.
While IDing him on his other char, a male human, I warned himI would kill him if he said he wanted a soul patch.
But then I also give him grief for buying mostly black only clothes. Just to appease the tailor goddess he will wear a red shirt whenever he is around me. ![]()

I don't understand this Goth-hype myself. Some folks I know IRL are of that wanna-be-but-not-completly-Goth-style-trip and when asked what makes them do that they don't have any good answers themselves... other than: "Why? It's cool!" or the usual urge to do what other "cool" folks do around them.
When asked for that look I usually explain my customer that I'm not very good at that kind of look, but that I will still try if they want to "risc" it
This way I can allways say "You have been warned" ![]()
I get requests for 'goth' and 'Darth Maul' all the time. (Personally I do think its overdone)
I usually say, 'Oh sure, thats verrry popular!'...
The response is almost always to the effect of, "Oh, well, I want to be unique, stand out, but I want to look really mean, evil, etc...'
I say 'Well, I can show you somevery sharpoptions you didnt get on creation, but if those arent for you, Goth/Maul it is!' and proceed to show them some striking and unusual looks.
Then they get creative, and start exploring..."Ohpurple eyes,is therea darker purple?' ..."now match the tattoo!'
I roleplay heavily when I ID, always complementing the attributes of the race that they aspire to,"Well, all Zabrak areso tough looking to begin with!" <grin> ...(I feel like BugsBunny as Hairdresser and the Monster, thoughts in my head are: " an innnnteresting Zabrak needs an innnnteresting tattoo!' At the end of the session I admire them and comment accordingly per their original request "So intimidating/handsome/cuddly...etc...!) I tell them to contact me if they decide they aren't totally happy, and I have had maybetwo cases of buyers remorse.
9 out of 10 end up with something totally different than what they thought they wanted, and are very pleased.
My take? Most folks never learn ID, they don't know how much choice they have, and they don't know what they like if they never get to see it. Non-judgmental customer education is how I think of it =)...but if they still want Darth Maul, I can do a very passable homage to him!
As for giving a Goth-do, I was 'Goth' before it had a name other than 'that weird artsy chick who wears all black', so neo-goth wannabesjust make me smile like a parent, lol.
ps: I also get at least one Anakin wannabe a day, who leaves saying... 'Soon as I get the cloak, I'll be the only Anakin in the galaxy!' I let them have their fantasy
, it's thier saga, after all!
I almost fell out of my chair when I read that - it's so true!
So far, I'veonly had one ortworequests for Darth Maul, but plenty of goth. Occasionaly, I'll give one of my friends the Goth look, but she's a Master ID, so she can change it back when she gets bored of it. I did have one request for Darth Maul today, but I couldn't remember what he looks like for the life of me, so I convinced them to go for something else. Looked much better I must say.
One thing I will never understand: Why do people want to look like a dead Sith? Darth Maul got killed by a Jedi Padawan, anyway.
Hmm.... That would be good to tell people who ask for it.
"Can you make me look like Darth Maul?"
"Why? Do you expect to die alot at the hands of newbs?" Bet that'll make them think. And if not, why am I wasting time? If they don't realize it, I'm not likely to get paid enough for my time.

Heh, that just provoked an out-loud laugh here in the office. Getting looked at like I'm on crack now (which is nothing new around this place, I s'pose).
