Thread: Need ID Macro

Wow, do we ever need one badly. Unlike most people, I'm not grinding to Jedi because I refuse to get sucked into that kind of mess. I'm happy to wait until publish 10 and see what the quests are like then. the reason I wanted ID is to get quick Apprentice Points. I was going for Novice Politician but the only marketable skills I have is for Master Musician (for my cantina) but it takes so long to get xps for music that it's hard to get the apps I need. I figured with the ID Game, I would have them in 20 minutes. <<sigh>> did I miss that boat, lol ! We need to actively get a macro working otherwise the ID profession will disappear within a few weeks. No one wants to hang out for 10 minutes just standing there just to get 50 xps.

here's the best we have now:

/target victim;
/im;
/pause 302; //use this time to make a physical change, then the extra 2 second you and your buddy can accept.
/macro im;

gives 300 EXP every 5 minutes

That's the best we have now.....

Okay, that might work out for me, but here's another layer to the question. I have 2 accounts and both characters are on
Intrepid. Now, if I have them sitting in front of each other in my house, andCharacter Astarts running that ID macro you listed above on Character B....what does the Character B do ? Remember, Character A is running the macro to get ID xps, and Character B is his victim. Is there a macro that B has to be running to accept the changes ? or do I have to be using B to click accept manually like with the old ID macro ?

As you can see from the macro provided, almost all of the ability to macro ID is gone. The IDer needs to select what to change and wait for the time to run out and hit commit, the target needs to accept the changes and hit commit too. There is no command for the commit part or the selection of what to change. The selection part was removed in the patch. The upwards of a 5 minute timer needs to be handled too. For all intent purposes, there is no way to macro ID, and you have so much time to do all the clicking you need to do anyway, there's little point of even setting up one.

Thanks for letting me know. Maybe I don't want to be a Politician anyway, lol. Besides, if I need Apprentice Points bad enough, I'll just hang out in a cantina and train the musicians. ID is out of the question for me now, because of the change in this publish. I'm sure that I'm not the only one. I really would like to see how many ID'ers there will still be in a few weeks.

Here's the problem though.. and this is a MAJOR problem.

What if I want to be an image designer, but wasn't one before this patch? screw hologrinding, I'm not talking about that... Now, anyone that wants to become an ID, will have to spend if, they and their victim go constantly, nearly a constant WEEK working on this skill, from dusk to dawn. this is just pathetic... no newbie is going to want to try and do this for xp to become a new image designer, and eventually I see this killing the skill as the few dedicated folks quit.

I'm ceartin that the timers and sutch will be changed in the near future... it is always better to over do and tone things down then to under do and have to tune things up...Be patient...

if you are iding on yourself then

/target yourcharnamehere;

/imaged;

/pause 4.5;

/ui action defaultButton;

/macro image

if you are targeting on someone else then use their name instead of yours. (call the macro image)

if you are getting a mate to help then have them run this one (call this one accept)

/ui action defaultButton;

/pause 0.5;

/macro accept

use this macro till you can alter body mass as at first you have to select hair then change the colour, once you can alter body musclemass then reduce the pause to 2 and get your cursor on the arrow to adjust muscle mass and click it when the window opens.......from novice entertainer to master id i did in under 2 hours solo. if you have a friend running an accept macro then an hour should be poss easy.

dont forget an entertainer buff for the extra 10%
