Thread: When asking for new content...

Fellow Image Designers, I have a concern to raise with the community.

It seems to me that many players who request new content for our profession ask for it to put in the Master Image Designer box. I understand that not all players may be requesting in this way, but it really seems to be as I read posts.

Personally I think Master Image Designer has plently. In fact, the way our profession is laid out now grinding is very encouraged because skin color is only for masters. In my experience, skin color is a very oftenrequested.

I'd like to see each and every skill box packed with options and content. I'd like to see the markings line prove more desirable then just making markings IV to get Zabrak tattoos.

So when new content is added to Image Designer, let's keep an open mind about where it's put. ID content in Master Entertainer is a good thing. Great, new and cool stuff for hair, body colors, particle effects and so forth should, in my opinion, be spread out for players to enjoy at all levels - Novice to Master.

Thank you for reading,

I don't think the request is for Master ID content, it's for the content to be somewhere in teh ID tree. This is completely reasonable. Players, when they come to an ID want the "full package." They do not want someone who cannot change a feature yet. They want someone who has all the colors, even if they end up choosing a non-master color. Yes, customers want a full-service ID.

If ID-related skills were put in a non-ID box, well that would gimp the profession and require us to get master entertainer. Yes, require. ID's without master entertainer would be at such a severe disadvantage for getting customers, that master entertainer would be required.

If we're talking about tattoos... well that's our most popular request. Since Day 1. If it were given to master entertainers, it would hugely gimp the ID profession, and there is no way around that.

I realize that master entertainer is lacking in content, but snatching abilities that should rightly belong to the respective master elite professions is not the answer.

If you are referring to my post regarding the suggestions that NON-IDs have made to put Body Tattoos into Master Entertainer, my own thought on that is that Body Tattoos should go somewhere in the Markings line... not at Master ID. I would strongly object to anything that is so requested by customers (I do get a lot of requests from Non-Zabraks for tattoos) to be placed in Master Entertainer... especially since Master Entertainer is NOT REQUIRED to become an ID!

If anything for ID is placed in Master Entertainer, it should be something like Holo-Emotes and/or some small craftables and NOT something like Body Tattoos, which would make it so that IDs would have to spend *48* additional skill points in order to be "complete." As N'Jessi said in a post in the Entertainer forum, IDs have a hard enough time getting paying customers for make-overs prior to reaching the Master ID box, we don't want anything added to Master Entertainer that would be needed in order to be able to do everything that might be required in a make-over.

Thank you for the passionate replies.

I do not suggest putting something that would be considered a major feature in the Master Entertainer box. I started out in this game as a musician and have seen the whole mandoviol debate numerous times. I would rather see a worthy bonus there, not something that is a must.

Personally, I did very little grinding to make Master ID. I was on nearly everyday and traveled between Theed, Bestine and Coronet. It took me about a year to make master, one customer at a time. A large benefit to this is I made a lot of money in tips =)

Along the way to master it was tough. If there was a master ID in Theed for instance, people would pretty much disregard me. I would get told, "No thanks, I need a master" very often. Even if the customer only wanted a hair change that I could do, they nearly always went to the master tag and would stand in long lines to wait. SoI chatted, played music or crafted some to pass the time and watch out for the stat migrations.

My original post in this thread is not a passive-aggressive response to another player. I read several other boards, such as tailor, pikeman and commando, and I see the same pattern occur in many requests. "Oh, xxx is a great feature! but only masters should get it!!" My concern is that the SW:G developers will get a sense that players believe the master box in each profession isn't satisfying and needs an increase.

Thank you for you time.

I have never, in all my time as an ID - which is since August 2003 - seen anyone request a master ID only skill. Could you provide me with links to where people are requesting this, please?

Thank you.

The Problem is alot of customers really dont know our profession well enough to know what they can have done by lower level image designers. Most peopel think the best stuff is at Master on all professions. For example if you wanted a new pistol would you go to the weaponsmith who only had the firearms tree or to a master weaponsmith? I think a lot of peopel see image designer the same way.
