Thread: Report From Test Center: Leveling Image Designers FREED From The Salons!

Not only is grinding on yourself now a viable option for those who have no customers, but there is no timer whether you are in a salon or not (unless you are doing a stat migration). With this change, the only reason for ANY ID to go to a tent is if they have a customer who wants a stat migration.

One thing I noticed, working on myself seemed to make me run out of Mind faster than working on an alt... even with my victim running an auto-accept macro. I suspect that this is caused by lag though, and is not actually due to the Mind Cost being less when working on another character.

Omg, dare I to dream! Back to the old days of having a leveling atk entertainer let you practice on him/her while he/she gets dance/music xp! FREEEE!

Definitely!

I finished my night sitting at the ID Trainer in the Theed Theater so I could train each box as I acquired the xp needed. While I was there, another ID in training came in and I taught them several boxes before they logged for the night.

It had taken me several hours long sessions over a period of months to get my Test Center ID to 4/0/0/3 ID, and I finished the remainer to Master ID in one play session.

I even did a stat migration for Tiaga (who trained me in 3 of my boxes before leaving for Live). It was the ONLY time I had to use the Salon.

Just for testing I dropped MID and one tier 4 skillbox and started to regrind it... took me only like 20 minutes of clicking now and I needed a dose of brandy. It's not as bad as befire the first revamp since you cannot macro it, but it's way faster now with the version on TC than with the current system with timers on live. I think you don't even need an ID-victim anymore, since he would only slow you down which would nullify the doubles xp as far as I can say for now.

You are right in that a Victim is not needed. Grinding on yourself is now a viable option.

However... Ialso foundthat using my ID Victim running an auto-accept macro was faster than grinding on myself, plus the mind loss was less (possibly due to lag). It may not have been twice as fast as grinding on myself (again most likely because of lag), but it was significantly faster.

Hmm... the auto-accept-macro might trivialize the whole MID-title then now again... :/ There really is a reason why I don't like makros...

It takes marginally longer doing it manually, Can (see my reply in 'How long to master' thread). The issue isn't macro, but lack-of-timer and that dancer-musicians can master ID as well now. The "profession" is pretty trivialised if this change hits live (and why wouldn't it?).

You do still lose Mind, though I suppose someone with Mind buffs would not notice it. I had to have my Test Center Id stop a few times (both grinding on herself and with the Victim running an auto-accept macro), but that was no problem.

The only macro my ID herself used was a one line /im macro. I made and accepted all of my changes manually. I never could get the time right for the ID macro that commited the changes to work.

Note: Before the original ID mini-publish, I had done a little practice ID sessions on myself, at that time, the xp gain was 12 xp per hair change, which is one of the reasons why I waited for the mini-publish to really start my first ID when I read about it prior to then.

On the other hand, I had in the past (before the ID mini-publish) been an ID victim when I was working on one of my Dancers (I was a very fast clicker)... and even with an auto-accept macro and no timers, the interface does make it take more time nowthan it took then. In fact, I think it might even go faster with a good (live) clicker than with an auto-accept macro running... but I did not have an opportunity to test that. If I am right though, then macros would make little difference for a leveling ID.
