Sorry, but this will not happen. There is too much tied to the name to allow ID to change it and even changing the case of single letters makes no exception there. Beside a big potential for griefing the technical barrier is HUGE!
CSR sometimes need to change a players name and whenever they do that it totally screws up that character.

Yeah the only time I saw a good thing come from a name change is when a fellow Tarquinnian managed to get her name tagged with her husbands surname after they got married.

I personally think that people should put more thought into their names from the start.
I do not believe folks should ever get the chance to change names, except for surname at bonding (whichI wish was actually a ingame option)
Folks picking stupid, ignorant, playonword, thoughtitwasgoodatthetime names need to settle down and deal with what they named themselves.
You picked it, you clicked accept, you live with it.

I agree. I always put a great deal of thought to my characters' names.

Picking a name for a character is one of the most important choices while creating a character. Not only you cannot change it later (and most likely never will be able to in the future either), but it is the one thing everyone else will identify yout with on the server. Whatever you do or say bears your name. So picking a suitable one is imperative in my eyes.

I'm the one who got her name changed (well, one of them, there are actually about three ladies whose names have been changed on Tarquinas, we have an AWESOME CSR). Getting your first name changed is a huge pain because everything is tied to that name, but I wish we had a way to change our last names upon marriage/union with another player, aside from petitioning a compassionate CSR.

The weird thing is, apparently inorder to change your last name, they have to temporarily change your first one. It was the oddest thing to see myfriend Kelath named "Rhae" for five seconds. This may be part of why players will never get the option to change ANY part of your name.

it's too bad that the "name check" doesn't first strip out all non-letter characters from a namebefore checking it against the "can't use" and "already used" lists. it's kinda silly that Bob, B'ob, -Bob-, Bob' and .-`BoB`-. are all considered different names...

I don't like the absurd names that people come up with - it ruins my immersion more than someone named "Hockeyfan" to see people named "-P-" or "'Leia'" or "Lu'ke". I don't think you should be able to put a ' or - at the beginning or end of a name - that's not what it's for. And I completely agree that the name filter should do something about the names like "Lu'ke" - I mean, it's "Luke" and that's against the rules!
Gah, that just frustrates me, mostly when I have to remember the apostrophes and whatnot. When it's something within the name and it sounds exotic, yeah, it's very cool. But when I see some idiot with a name XxXxXxXxXxXxX (yeah it's no joke) I kinda wish that like other games the name filter didn't allow apostrophes or dashes at all, that the first letter was capitalized and no other letters were, and that some vowels must be included.

Hello all, my husband showed me this thread because I wanna change my last name to get the same as him.
I tried 3 times to make em change and nothing. They told me they coudnt change it for some access reason. I then told em I was ok with that "access" thing and that my husband just had to give me access under my new name no problem. But still didnt want.
So I don't know how you guys made it but... I wanna have my husband's last name!!!
Tell me how you did it!!!
Thanks
AnarK'Ya Rasna
(Well its actually AnarK'Ya but I always sign Rasna where ever I have to sign since we are married)
