Maybe someone has already mentioned this before, but I thought it would be nice for the Image Designer to have a "save template" functionality. Basically, seeing as there are so many colors, choices, hairstyles, facial configurations, and many repeat clients want to be reverted back to an old state, it would be nice to have templates that could be used again and again.
For example, say someone changed their hair color, makeup, lip color, eyebrow color and eyeshadow to green since it's St. Patty's day (this really happened btw) and the next day they wanted it set back the way they had it before. If IDs had the ability to save their customer's template first before a major change (1 template per customer), they could reverse the client's features back to normal with one click.
Essentially there would be two buttons in the ID interface. One to SAVE a template for a customer and one to LOAD a template for a customer. If there is no template to load, the button would simply be disabled. If you loaded their previous template, you could still make changes as it would only be viewable in the preview window and there is no arduous task trying to remember the exact style they used to have.
The idea could be further built on by allowing IDs to save multiple templates for themselves or their clients by using commands. For example:
/saveTemplate 1 [target]
/loadTemplate 1 [target]
Obviously there would be a limit, but I know at Master Image Designer, there would be a lot of desire (for me at least) to keep multiple templates of my character handy.
Thoughts?

I personally won't do this via a /-command, but I would like to see a way to save a setting for the UI as well... atleast within the session so you don't need to commit and restart the session several times for all the different subchanges.

I like it however I'm sure there would have to be a limit of the number of templates you could store. Rather than being customer specific why not let them just be gneral? When you choose to save the current avatar as a template you have to name it and then save it. You might have a limit of say 25 templates. You could take the idea even further to save templates for a certain area of the body.

While the idea has merit, it only dumbs down the profession. An exceptional designer remembers thier past clients, and can duplicate thier old design. In fact, that is the main reason I'm am the galaxy's top designer on my server. The challange of being a great designer is knowing what your customer wants before they ask, and rememebring what they were before they changed.

I havent been playing at ID for very long however I do agree, being able to remember such things is what would make one ID stand out from the crowd. Would still be a nice idea imo though it's not really a burning issue for me.
