Thread: Hair Coloring, Problem

When ever I change the color on someone it ends up on my screen as if I had set the bar all the way to the left (deep dark brown), though they claim to see the color just fine. I can see the color when I'm picking it, but after I commit and they accept it seems to change straight to the brown, and when I go in to change it again, instead of being where their current color is its all the way to the left (even if I set them full right before).

So I'm curious if anyone else is having problems seeing color updates on their patrons (hair only.)

Thanks

Yes, this was a problem in beta as well. Hair defaults to brown, and hair color changes are not visible. The temporary fix was to make hair color changeable at Novice Entertainer, so that you would be able to give your customer their original hair color back.

Ugh still no edit...note that if the person logs and comes back, their hair color changes are visible to everyone.

Same problem here. Someone please fix it for us! What good are hair color changes if no one can see them? Also, if I change my hairstyle, my companions inform me that my hair color defaults to brown. A log fixes it, but who wants to do that?

Sorry but it's not always true that logging out & back in solves things. Last night I let 2 ID's that were friends get some experience off my characteron Corbantis. My hair to start was the dark red color. We went thru at least 10 color changes to test things out & give them experience. In the end I decided to keep a light ash blonde color. Problem was I was the only one that could see it. One person saw me having the same original dark red color. Next person saw me with darker blonde, next person saw the color as brown. No one saw the color I picked, except me. I logged off, came back & things were the same - I could see it but no one else could.

ID's have a BIG problem if people don't get what they think they're getting. If it works the same way with hairstyles & other changes you're going to have many unhappy customers. And there's no way you'll get repeat business or be able to charge credits for it unless that's fixed. Hate to tell you but your profession is broken right now.

In my experience logging off always fixes things, unless you don't actually log off.

Many times when you log out, your character just sits in a link dead state for a while, and if you come back sometimes you just slip back into your character as if you had not logged off. Sometimes it refreshes your character's appearance appropriately, and somtimes it does not. (And, sometimes you come back looking bald! Haven't been able to track that one down yet)

It sounds like that is what happened here with you Magna. The color should be fine when you log off for 10 minutes or so.

There are, however, a few bugs still in the systemwith hairstyles (obiously). Color is one big thing.

Anyway, if there are any problems with any of the hairstyles I do, I will happily fix it for free.

If you type ' /bug ' while in the game, then you can send a bug report to the devs. They tend to look at those more than they will at the forums. So, if you havn't already do it now. But, if you have.....don't pay attention to me. But, yeah someone changed my hair color too and I saw it, but they didn't see it and they said it was brown. I think it is part of the previewing before you actually accept it is probably where the bug is.
