Thread: Brown Hair Bug: Is there a workaround?

I started dabbling into image design.. and it's slowly turning into a career, and I've since noticed that the brown hair bug is more than just an annoyance. I can change someone's hair, logout, reboot my computer, and log back in, and their hair will still appear brown to me. Is there any way to see someone's proper hair color again other than waiting for a server restart? (and will that even work?) Is there a local graphics cache that can be cleared out perhaps? Thanks..

When you change someone's hair, it goes to the default brown color. You have to change it back to its original color, or a new one if that is what they want. It is annoying though.

Doesn't that require you to do two actions and get twice the exp this way? One for the hair style and another for the color?

Lemme explain a bit more, even if I change someone's hair color after I've changed the style, it still looks brown to me (though they can see the change) and logging out by sitting down and waiting for the 30 second logout, rebooting my computer and logging back in doesn't help. an RL Day or so later, I can ususally see the proper hair color.

ok, when you change their hairstyle it goes to default brown, you change the color and YOU still see the brown, they see the new color. Everyone else sees the brown also. The target(person who recieved the change) needs to logout completely so their char leaves the server.

I had a friend /logout but her char stayed in game long enough so that when she got back nothing changed and her char was there the whole time.

I heard taking a shuttle might fix this, but who wants to pay when you can do a complete relog.

It takes a really long time for a character to be gone from the game world after you log out, even if you use /logout. I've had it take 15 minutes once, but I've also had it take 45 minutes.

Rebooting your computer is useless since the problem is server/character. The character has to be completely gone.

If you log back in too soon, the character will have never left the world, and you have to log out all over again and wait again.

After this, the colour *will* be right again.
