Searched the boards but I didn't see anything specifically about this so here's what I think.

My second character is nearly a master ID. I love tattoo's. My PA has a security division. Something that could be a mark for all of them would be cool... we'll see.

First, similar to others, I think there should definitely be more options for tattoo location and more styles to choose from. Everyone knows about these things so I won't go into depth. Upper arms, forearms, faces, back, chest, thighs, calf/lower leg/ankle. Anyways, maybe allow one tattoo each is those type locations. Also have available patterns maybe laid out like the hairstyles.

As for what I was thinking.. Make some sort of tattoo schematic deal. Not that a tattoo takes a great deal of resources, but maybe you need to find some special ink or something. Or maybe you have to find the pattern/image to be able to use it and you can only use it a certain number of times before it wears out.

That's number 1. Number 2 is this (while possibly being quite far-fetched, I think it would be an amazing asset to the ID profession.) I am an artist and have made up more than a few tattoos for people. I'm sure there's some way to make IDs able to have their own tattoos. Say you're allowed to have 5 or so max at a time. There would need to be a place to send them in or some way to make them available in game. Perhaps something like a daily/weekly fee to have them stored. I can see the potential problems and abuses of this, but it's a rough draft of a good thought. I'm also not as informed as some people as to how this might be accomplished, but that's not my job. I'm an artist.

Thoughts, comments, rants, flames? Be my guest. I will play this game for a loooong time regardless, but this is something I would be willing to assist on. Did I mention I love tattoos?

I think the copyright issues could be handled, but only in small quantities. You'd have to limit original tattoo art to Master IDs (or something) and have submissions checked for plagiarism somehow. Tricky, that. How can anybody possibly recognize every piece of art?

But I think it'd be great if lower-level Markings artists could plant tattoos... but only Master Markings or Master IDs could remove them.

I doubt it's possible for them to make player designable tattoos, since these would probably have to be stored in the client on everyone's computer requiring a download every time one image designer makes a new tattoo.

Also it sounds like you want tattoos possible for every race, while I think they should stay limited to Zabrak.

In my opinion. Facial tattoos should remain Zabrak only (I am a Zabrak by the way), but tattoos in other locations should be available to all species (except perhaps wookies, not sure how you'd see a tattoo through fur).

I would love to have a small rose on my lower back or ankle. However, opening up new locations for tattoos and then providing tattoo art that looks right for those locations, and making sure it all renders correctly for everyone would be a major undertaking I bet. So I don't expect this to happen.

I know personally that I never wear my "Tattoo Artist" title (I'm not a full master yet), because it always provokes a stream of tattoo requests from humans
