Coupons!! I love it I might use that idea if you don't mind Someone suggested having a piece of paper that was a price list to put on vendros, loved that idea too I am a tailor/merchant/dancer/image designer and have two vendors in my house. One caleld "Kweestyle Boutique" with all the clohtes, and another called "Kweestyle Beauty Salon" that is currently empty. My plan was to put bangles or something on there and have each one be a read me that has information on modifications and prices. I'm collecting some reclining chairs and I'm going to line them up like in a hair salon Also a reclining chair in the basement is for my illicit plastic surgery (since I have no medical license ). It's in there with my crafting station, blocks of steel, and other widgets hehe.

I am a Master Image Designer. I also run an import/export business. I recently trained up to Business 3.... why I did it is beyond even my comprehension... I did it because I thought my character should be business savvy, in keeping with my concept.

What does Business 3 get me? the ability to place a vendor in my home

What can an ID sell on a vendor? nothing, we provide a service

But! what if I placed coupons for sale on my vendor, with a set price for a cetain ID job, or a "reservation coupon" for a reservation fee for complex custom ID jobs. Then the customers could come to my Salon, buy a coupon/token for a particular service, and redeem it with meat the time the service is performed? This could work with several Image Designers sharing a salon (as I do with Lehiera, another Master ID on Flurry), but the house owner would have to be banker and pay the other Designers as they handed them the coupons.

A little work, But will it work? Any thoughts or advice (or criticism) are welcome.... hehe, I guess that goes without saying when making a public post, but anyway.... whaddya think?

The only problem I see with "selling" the coupons is the trust factor. I think this would work if you have a good solid reputation as an honest image designer.

Maybe I misunderstood the idea. I was imagining the coupons would sell for 1 credit or so and have discounts written on them for a service. Like 500 off a fur color change, etc. Would be a neat rp business thing, and boost yourmerchant xp. Another idea would be to put these cheap coupons in thejewelry section of the bazaar, would be a sortof advertising. That I would not do, I'm getting enough business just running around and through referrals.

No this is actually an Idea I was exploring with the other crafters in my PA. I'd like to have a vendor selling some easily made item with the description "1 hair style: 5K". They find me or another Lowca ID, trade the item so we can verify it, then get the design they choose. The problem is, as Master ID and hopefully sometime this month, master dancer, I'll have no points to spare to pick up artisian, unless I want to forget hunting at all! So... great idea, I hope it works out for you! WIth anyluck I'll be able to figure out a way to make it work for me =)

I am an ID / Merchant on my server and I put a few things on my vendor:

1.) I re-sell tailor clothes with permission from other tailors and advertise their wares in my parlor as I ID

2.) I make 100 sided dice and label them ticket 01-100; people buy them at 400 credits a piece and I hold a raffle drawing by rolling a 100 sided dice. The contest is announced and winner must be present or a new roll is made. The winner gets one free design of her/his choice.

3.) Spice (took the cigarette machine-looking Vendor, LOL)

4.) Food/drink (I run a cantina and the are on the bartender Vendor...)

Oh, and fix the entertainer profession....

I did this in beta hehe. I set up a vendor and sold reservation tickets for an image design. It worked pretty well. I think it would have worked better if the planetary map had been working in beta..... hmmmm wait is there anyway to list entertainer on the planetary map? hmmm guess not

I actually had two thoughts on how to use the vendors for Image Design.

The first is a reservation system. Put an inexpensive item (dice work well) renamed as a "Reservation for Image Design" for sale for a low amount... say 25 credits. As soon as one sells on the vendor, Iget an email Syetem messageletting me know that a person wants ID, and I contact them to schedule a meeting.

The second thought were "Prepaid Image Design Vouchers". I set my prices, and say for example an Eye Job is 500 Credits. I put several eye vouchers up, and people who wanteye changesjust buy that voucher, and give it to myself or another ID who accepts them. Like I said, this would require that one person only makes the Voucher, and also a banker to pay any other IDs who accept the coupons.

Regarding the discount coupon idea that you are mentioning Kwee, I was a legendary crafter in DAoC, and we had a discount system for repeat customers. When someone bought something from me, I had a ragdoll that I gave them in addition to there order that was redeemable on their next order for a 15% discount.

Regarding reputation, I personally think mine is pretty good, but I agree that the success of vouchers/coupons would depend on trust between the customer and the Image Designer. This goes for any business, as I hear of people selling MSE deeds that are labeled as Probots, and selling pre-sliced weapons with misleading information.... but people who do that brand themselves, and will soon find themselves up a creek. I may or may not have been the first Master ID on Flurry (I heard rumors of another befoer me, but have never seen that person), and I have a reputation to maintain. My reputation is all that keeps me in business, and therefore having a good reputation is a requisite for this entire merchant thing working.

Hopefully my post answered some of the questions about my babble.... or at least produced more answers than it generated babble. Happy monday. Viva la caffeine!
