There's actually five tents. And I like them ... they are pretty.

Q: Where are the ID Salons (Tents) located? A: You can type “/find salon” in one of the following five cities to have a waypoint created for you. :

Theed -5130 4260 (next to the Cantina, visible from Starport area)

Moenia 4790 -4730 (visible from the Starport and Cantina)

Bestine -1440 -3700 (back behind the Cantina)

Coronet -360 -4690 (near the Cantina and Shuttleport B)

Vreni Island -5150 -6370 (next to the Cantina)

What a horribly confined space to have to deal in for an image designer. Doesn't anyone else agree? There are only 3 to the entire galaxy too.

I thinka professional revamp should include either an abolishement of the salon, or else spawning of more, and better ones. Something like a town hall, not a measely ten by twenty tent.

What about some more image designing features too? Like hair and ridges. IDs need more material!

They are poorly designed without the consideration of the novice ID in mind. By forcing master ID's to use the tents, novice ID's lose business and experience simply because more people will choose to see a Master ID than a novice, even though they can perform the same action.

Oh, and fix the entertainer profession....

The tents are a terrible prison for a master. but I don't have anything constructive to say that hasn't been said before on this.

I agree. It's almost like standing in the cantina blowing a slitherhorn for hours while working on musician.

What if there was something like a portable salon?
Like the camps that scouts carry.

I would also like to see Master ID's get the chance to place player city salons, like the cantinas or theaters. My town would love to have their own salon

I'm sure this has been already voiced, so I'll just go back to my tent and do more hair.

The only service that 'forces' me to use the tent is stat migration. Otherwise, I am free to come and go as I choose. The timer is halved for a master and for the most part, the timer has long run out before most clients settle on what they want for changes.

If there is a novice in the tent, I take down my master tag and try and throw as many stat migrations at the novices as I can. My fee for migrations is 20k and most novices will do it either for free or tips. That encourages some people to see the novices instead of me.

A point I'd like to make is, that it's frequently easier for novices to find teaching without having to go to an NPC trainer, if the tent is a local gathering place for IDs of all ability levels. The tents are a two-edged sword, and if people are considerate of each other, then the tents can be more good than bad.

The tents are what you make them be. They can be a great place to hang out and help new players, meet new people, make new friends. They are much more "comfortable" to be in since they were redecorated. As a master, I like to travel to the different tents to see whats going on in there that day. If noone is in there, its a nice place to sit and catchup on things. Sooner or later, someone comes strolling in..even if it is just to take a peek. They usually end up saying how cool the tent looks or that they never knew what they were for. Learn how to enjoy what we have..you just might like it.

I agree, it is a prison. Horrible! And they don't even have it on every habitable planet.

Mind you the tents are very pretty, though the terminals them selves seem to contrast starkly against the plush decor.

Most of the ID tents are really bad. So many trees and so much furniture that its hard to even SEE inside. Well except for one. One is REALLY nice and pleasant. Easy to use, unclutterd, uncrowded and a joy to work in . Its the one in..... uh... Well.. its the one I work in...

On second thought... You wouldn't like it at ALL... No need to come see it.. Its really a VERY boring and ugly place... So just stay RIGHT where you are!

As for masters taking away business from novices, I always try and redirect customers wanting stat migrations to novices, and explain why.
