Thread: Valid uses for macros?
Okay, I'll admit it, despite going into ID because I truly do enjoy it, I grind. Why? Because I keep getting requests for things I can't do yet, and when I can't do what the customer wants—guess what? No XP for me. But that's not what I really wanted to talk about. What I wanted to ask is this: do other IDs use macros for what most of us would consider valid reasons? Take me, for instance, I keep a hotkey bar specificly for my most-worn clothing. In addition to having the macro don my clothes it also triggers an ID macro to change my makeup, eye, and tattoo coloration to match the outfit.
Does anyone else do something like this? Are there other valid, creative uses for macros in the ID profession? How do you feel about changes to match outfits? Should they be kept to a real-world reasonable level, or go hog wild (after all, we can...)
Thanks in advance for your thoughts
Syz, that's actually a really SMART idea. Most of the time, I change my look to match whatever outfit I'm wearing (especially on my alt character, who is a Twi'lek and has markings and stuff) and that way I wouldn't ever have to remember which pattern/color I use to go with every outfit I have... which is a lot. LOL Thanks for the idea.

Ditto. Maybe it's just me but with the windows aligned it seems just as simple and quick to just repeatedly click the mouse. I may change my tune whenI get carpal tunnel syndrom...
I've always used macros for the same reason - so I can have my hands free to type and talk to everyone.
