simple. before they leave, just ask them to let you fix them something else real quick, trick them into accepting the changes, then give them the worse the uglier changes. then leave them like that.

if they send you angry tells, just remind them to pay for services if they want a good service done, for free that's what they get.

I think a less convoluted and legit' method for ensuring payment for services rendered might be a better plan here.

I'd just as soon leave it alone than have someone walk around telling everyone how bad ofjob I did on their 'look' Bad publicity tends to be morewidespread than good publicity at times.

Sure we all want to get paid but what can you do other than ask for money up front?

No publicity is bad publicity.

With how rare image designers are, I've found people just have to get wind of you being an image designer and they'll ignore the rest of what is said and contact you.

Though I have had someone who paid me very well for a makeover because they didn't trust the other image designers they knew. However, in that case they knew them personally.

What I do for most customers that look kind of like the individual that will take the changes then run off without paying you I have them tip me in advance payment of services if I am unable to accomplish the design they want I will reimburse them there money back but in most cases I have been able to get all my payments except for one and I have that individual on a list of no do's for any image designer I know on my server so basically he is stuck with what he has.

What works for me is to always design in cantinas or other crowded areas. Then if they stiff you, people will know. And there will be witnesses that the person is a louse. Also make sure to loudly & humiliatingly yell it out. More often than not they'll pay up to save face & not get on a dozen people's ignore list.

Design at the bank of a major city! There is usually a lot of people there, and then if they've 'got to get money out of the bank' they don't have to go far! Plus when it slow you can browse the bazaar.
