My holo told me "a mystical voice tells you image designer blah blah blah" soooooooo i'm going image designer now and am actually really excited! Well i'll just list my questions below in numarical order, if you could answer these for me that would really help, cuz i know NOTHING if image designer.

1. How does this profession work, like do you need some item to be crafted to be able to change someones hair?

2. What is the fastest way to get exp on average (don't flame me for this, just wanna know)

3. How long did it take you on average to get master ID

4. Are there any MAJOR bugs i need to watch out for that will have me screaming at my comp monitor.

Well I think that is it, if someone would answer these for me, i would really appreciate it. Well i'm off guys, thanks in advance for all your help

1. No craftables are needed, if you clicky on my guide in my signature you will find a lot of info on how to ID, what skills you get when, where to find training, and tips on random aspects of the profession.

2. The fastest way is using a macro though they are often buggy and leave you unable to ID for anywhere from 30 mins to a several hours. You can make use of dancer/musician buffs, spices, chef food/drink (go for willpower and focus). Find a friend to practice on, you get almost four times more experience than working on yourself...

3.It took me two months working at it casually with no macros other than one that had /im, that opens the main window.

4. Yes sometimes when changing someone's face features, before you even hit commit to offer them something, the slider goes all the way to zero by itself and the person's face part permanently ends up at the minimum. It's totally unpredictable and can understandably upset your customer. So before you do a face change look very carefully to see what their feature sort of looks like You may have to eyeball it. Another annoying one is that hair color changes do not show until after a server reset, and if hairstyle is changed, the hair all defaults to a certain color (dependent on the person's species) and remains that way until the server resets (every morningUS time). Human hair appears brown to all but the customer, bothan hair appears white...

Good luck!!

I just began ID too, my biggest bug so far has been that I crashed (happens often since the patch, even after doing a full scan) while designing on myself waiting for a shuttle and couldn't design on myself again until the next day. It will allow you to design on others I think tho, and practicing on others is amazingly faster if they are paying attention.

Also, if you are designing someone, try to notice the way they looked before in case they don't like the changes. Two or three times now I've gotten them saying "just put it back the way it was" and doing that takes quite a while since you are driving and don't remember where they werebefore. Someone trying to describe a color is not easy.

I would recommend avoiding hair color or hair style to get exp since their hair color will appear differently to other people until the server resets. You don't actually have to change anything to get exp, so just giving someone the same lip or eye color over and over works.

Something in Kwee's guide that I must stress - unless you'rean expert hairstylist (hair IV on the ID tree) you do NOT have all the hairdos. That means you may NOT be able to put the customer back. ALWAYS check for the old hairdo, before you even OFFER the customer a new one. If you don't have the old hairdo TELL the customer so he or she knows to preview instead of accept. Some customers will accept changes as the session goes along instead of rejecting them just to give you xp (and we luuuuv them for it).

Another point - if you have a change that eats mind points, such as lekku pattern, you may not want the customer to accept all the ones you propose - that will eat half your mind bar, and if you're not slurping down muon gold, you could be there all day. There's nothing worse than "omg I hate this pattern eew eew change it change it" (and you're thinking - you accepted, stoopid) and you say "hold on out of mind" and then one of you goes LD, and ugh, takes forever. (I once had a customer look at EVERY LEKKU PATTERN... tipped well though.)

I love it!! That's such a good idea. Especially when you're about to start working on some poor person's face.
