Not only that, but it would give an easy answer to "What kind of shirts/pants can you make?"

I don't know if anyone has ever talked about this, I am a rifleman so I do not frequent this board.

I would like to see, as a client, some kind of preview window that would allow me to select the color of clothes that I want. It is kind of annoying to try and guess what color you want and then try to explain that to the tailor. With the expensive Bio-Enbineered items I would hate to have a tailor make me something and then it turn out not being what I wanted...

So, do you guys think it would be hard for them to add somethign like this? It would be cool for a window to pop up where I could design my whole outfit and then click a button that would send a mail to the tailor and then they could start making my order.

I've thought about this as well, and would love it. If they could do it... hehe, who knows.

Well, I think there should at least be a preview window for the customer to see what the clothes would look like before I make them. I wouldn't want the customer to basically design the clothes for me, though. It would kind of take the fun and creativity out of tailoring if my only job was to load resources into the crafting tool and hit the assemble button. As far as expensive BE clothes are concerned, I always make a non enhanced version first to make sure that the customer likes the outfit and then I remake an enhanced version. The "test" clothes almost always sell on the bazaar or my vendor anyway.

I posted something similar to this in the Tailor board, but the same thign applies to image designing...

As a client I wish there was a window where I could choose the haristyle that I wanted. It seems to me that a lot of time is wasted trying to get the right hair on your head. It could be done a lot quicker if we could just select the hair style we wanted and then the Image designer actually apllies the style.

Any thoughts as to why this would or wouldn't be a good idea?

I'd only support this idea if it would onlyshow customers how an item would look on them if they bought it from the vendor.

I don't want anything that will give a customer access to my entire schematic list and color picker. I am not going to become the equivalent of a personalized clothing terminal. Choosing colors and combinations is the most fun part of making clothes, if they ever turn my profession into a tedious mess of "this one, wait, one box over and down, ooh, try that one, can I see how that looks on the pants?" I'm dropping it.

Oops, sorry for the double. On the BE clothes thing, any decent tailor knows to make a sample item without the enhancement for the customer to take a look at first. If you don't like the color, you won't buy it, and we're stuck with a customized waste of good tissues.

I thought about this myself at one time, but decided it wasn't a good idea. Here's why I feel that way:

Basically, we would become walking image design terminals. It would take any interactivity out of our profession. What I enjoy about image design is working with the customer to find what they want and then giving it to them. If the customer could browse and select merely by having me there, I wouldhave nothing to do.

Also, if the customer were able to browse and select on their own, I doubt I we would get any tips at all. There's enough people out there that feel we aren't doing any real work, if such a change was made, we wouldn't be.

But that's just my opinion.

good points...the vendor idea is great. I would really like to see whatthe whole outfitlooked like before i purchased the item.

It would be sort of a dynamic window that you could add separate pieces to your personuntil you found the set thatyou wanted.

We do have a vendor preview in our wishlist thread.

This would be helpful for us because it would keep customers from buying things that fit strangely. And happy customers = happy tailors.
