Thread: ID bug that is driving me mad

Today I went to help a friend with some ID work, he had started a new char and now he wanted his nose abit wider, his lips abit thicker and more small adjustments like that. I go to open te box for lips and POOF..... I see his lips go to minimum... And it is very hard to make fine adjustments to something that isn't there anymore! And it gets even worse when it's not a friend or someone that isn't familiar to the profession , I hate having to explain that I just changed the customers nose without the accept box coming up..
I really hate this bug, it started happening two patches ago and it isn't happening every day or on every box but today it happened as soon as I touched a box. In the end I was so fed up with it all I just told him that we could do the rest later. I don't know if I am the only one this is happening to? It is really annoying me and I am thinking of dropping ID over it even though I love the profession, this bug is just ruining it too much for me..
Ugh, I hate the slider bug. I'm going to be doing what I can to push for that fix.

Eyes, weight, nose, jaw, chin, lips, mouth and chin boxes all do this. Not only nose.
Does this actually change the nose or is this a bug that is only displayed for the image designer?
I would really like to know if the change goes through if you cancel the ID request without the customer accepting th change. It seems to me that this is exactly like the hair styel/hair color bug, but only works for (well, more like against) the image designer.
It changes the nose for YOU the same way it would if you moved the slider all the way to zero, but it won't take--of course--unless you and your target hit Accept.
Are you sure? I had friemds come running to me after ID's in training been practising on them and changed them without meaning to. So, yes it changed the nose.
It's not even a "visual bug" as with hair color, as the nose (or whatever) should show up properly for all parties--it's just the equivalent of hitting Image on someone and immediately setting the slider to zero.
This can be problematic because if you're grinding without a macro, and merely clicking boxes, you may think that since you haven't moved the slider, you haven't changed anything. And if you've been working on a victim for a while, and you've never made a single change, and it's a facial change that is not reallly noticable, the person may well just accept out of habit because you are grinding. Then the person realizes, maybe hours later, that she has a miss piggy nose.
This happened to me just after release, while I was grinding image design. After an image design session with a friend, I looked and said "good lord, let me fix your nose, it's way too high" and she said "I don't remember making it that high in character creation." And I said "well I didn't move the slider."
Be a friend, grind eye color. Just to be safe.
Uggg..this bug is a nightmare..the only way I get around it is to log and come right back and everything will be back to normal. There again, if you have an impatient customer, this can be a problem. I was working on a human female and she wanted her entire face redone and everything kept going to 0. I had to log a million times but it was the only way for me to see how her face was looking since everything kept defaulting to 0
It was a great thing she was completely understanding and very patient
