Image Designer Archive

I am on Starsider trying to find an image designer to give my character the human male ponytail. I come across one that is an overt rebel in Theed, and naturally, she's too busy to work on me. That's fine. She asks me if she can do it in a few minutes.

I wait....

And wait...

I finally see another run by me, by the name of Karina. She's also got a master title displayed, so I ask her. She tells me that she dropped all of her ID skills, but the title is still there. I told her she can get rid of it by changing to a different title. She says she doesn't want to display ANY title, so she's sticking with the master ID title until it goes away on it's own.I give up, and go back to waiting for the first one.

In the meantime, I decide to run to the cantina to get some med XP. Once I get inside, I see Karina again. This time she's displaying a tattoo artist title. What happened to keeping the master ID title until it disappeared? And if she really dropped all of her ID skills, she shouldn't be able to choose the tattoo artist title either, right?

Now I'm stuck wandering around Theed, trying to find an image designer that will just do one really quick hairstyle change for me. it's not even worth it for someone to travel to me, or vice versa. And all of those that are in Theed, are too busy to do it.

No wonder Image Designers are so rare.

Got a lot of hep from an ID today, getting a LOT of ID xp and tips on how to get more. Nice guy. So far so good, and I should probably name him, except for this bit:

He did create an 'ugly' macro to use on annoying customers.. (would require someone to let him grind on them (for pay, probably)... then after having freckles set to 0 for a while they'd happily in rapid succession accept various changes to height, weight, etcetera.).

Which I think goes right in there with 'strange IDers'.

Well I am very sorry to hear you are having such woes but honestly I cannot say it surprises me. I don't know what it is about my fellow IDs but when I am stopped by clients they tell me how grateful they are I sit with them and help through changes.

Many clients say the Image Designers they encounter inform them they are far too busy or just flat out ignore them. Often i think you will find an Image Designer more than eager to help you if they are grinding XP but once they achieve mastery thier skills are for themselves and thier friends alone.

I for one like the feeling of gratitude my clients display when I help them customize thier look to better reflect how they want thier avatar to look. Image Design is my primary profession and I treat it as such.I like to think it provides me some noteriety on the server and I am almost always available to help.

So if you are in need, and you have a hard time finding an Image Designer feel free to look me up next time. ^_^

See, I would tend to disagree. Image Designers have very little going for them as far as fighting back in the galaxy. If you are a marksman and someone ticks you off you can just duel them. If you offend a medic or Entertainer they will just have everyone in the area refuse to heal you. Paying back bad people by tricking them into bad looks is one of the few ways we IDshave to fight back sometimes.

While I personally gave this up after mastering pistoleer I do give some thought to using my impish Image Designer Tricks when power gamers tend to treat me like a pushover. But thankfully that rarely happens.
