Was Image designer for a day but i though of a good idea...

Idea: Make somesort of webbased or ingame based character designer so that people couldmake their changes and then tell the Image-Designer a generated code that does all the changes...

Example: I want to look completely diffrent, I start up this website/ingame feature and make all the changes i want, after i'm done i get a code like 1038472849201 or whatever.. I give that code to the ID'er and it makes me look exactly how i wanted..

Just an Idea....

Before anyone else gets to you and is…overly firm: the vast majority of us are in this profession for the interpersonal interaction. What you suggest would totally remove that from the profession, turning us into walking, talking ID terminals—that wouldn't be very much fun. So while we apreciate you taking the time to consider ways to allow us to better meet our clients needs, this idea would suck the fun out of the profession for many of us, and isn't likely to get much support.

Hmm... how about a twist on his idea, then?

We have the same option that lets us create our own styles... but only master image designers have access to this. So, we find out what the person is looking for. "I'd like something long and loose, maybe a little wavy, with wispy bangs, in strawberry blonde please." So we fiddle around with the customizer, hit on what we think they'll like, and spit out the style for them. They can look at it, decide if they want to change anything, and go from there.

I know, this is impossible from a coding standpoint... not to mention the ridiculous amounts of lag it would cause if everyone could customize their hair. But, wouldn't it be SWEET?

There was a similar idea posted earlier about ID presets. In effect they would act as 'manufacturing schematics' used by image designers to apply a specific set of looks to a toon. You would be able to hold several, allowing for quick changes between looks. Each look would be unique to the player, and would require a full ID session to 'create' the 'schematic.' I liked the idea then, and I like it now—it's more or less a formalization of a quick-change macro.

Do me a favor, Phill. Try JUST THAT after our minipublish hits live, and tell me the results.
