Thread: Suggestion: How Hard would this be?

Now granted I realize the ID interface is going to be enhanced but this isn't related to interface per se (though i have plenty of complaints about the interface). My suggestion is related more to the actual things we can do. I'm not sure if maybe i missed a suggestion thread (looked like we only had bug/feature mission stickies).

My firstthree suggestions were asked by patrons.Direct tummy control (but don't drop weight, i like its overall control), Butt size (this hasn't been outlawed by LA has it?), and Breast lift (Think of it has Nose Length for chest. I like the way the nose sorta bends up or down with Nose height, surely the same could be done for Chest). Breast lift is NOT breast enhancement, just a change in its position, surely everyone doesn't have the same looking chest and not all chests are catagorized simply by size?

My other suggestion is a real clunker because i don't know if its easy or if anyone else even agrees with me, its just something I have noticed while ID'ing many people. Certain things we can change affect too many attributes (save weight which again i like its overall control of the body, we just need the ability to fine tune as well). An easy example would be facial hair. I have ID'd people who wanted side burns while keeping the mustache or beard they had. How hard would it be to have (for facial hair) 3 sliders. One that controls the different types of sideburns, one the different types of mustaches and another the different types of beards (different locations of hair). Yes this would make it more complcated but then we could compartmentalize a person's requests. If they like the style of facial hair we gave them but want to lose say the mustache, we just slide that slider to 0 and everything else is as they want it. Hair is another one where this could be usefull. I have talked to people who liked a hair style maybe save the ponytail? Hairstyle would be much harder, i can't name XYZ feature that exists on general hair styles but even sorting the hair styles by style type (say Beginner styles, Freaky Styles, Long, Short?) would make it easier to consolidate what the patron is interested in.

Another suggestion is that we be able to at least a LITTLE adjust many of the regular features beyond or below their current max values. I feel that it is highly unfair that a lot of our functionality can be achieved at character creation and that anyone who spends any decent amount of time at character creation (as most do) will not need our services for a long time if every when they get bored of their toon. Sure hairstyles and such are new but what will we be looking at? A rush of patrons every ID publish? Surely we can do better than that? This is not to say I am for lack of customers right now but most of the customers that come to me either ask for settings I cannot achieve (shorter than allowed) or ask if there is anything i can do that wasn't available at character creation. I'm not talking just colors either (i know thats in the mini-publish).

My final suggestion is a VERY shaky one (saved it for last). Mostly because i realize many a player would argue this to death and even most ID's would disagree with me but I'll put it out there anyway (its probably already been said anyway). Features should have some sort of decay. Let me take that back, that was a very GENERAL way of saying what I want to say. I do'nt mean that if we change their nose there nose should go back to normal after some time. I mean that just as tailors needed a way to stay in business so they made decay on clothes (though that still isn't quite working right i hear) people should gain weight over time (Very slowly in proportion to the amount of foods they eat) and age very slowly over time (i'm talking like maybe 1 tick on the age slider every 2-3 months). Is it a lot of change? Not really. Will it eventually bug them? Maybe, I'm not talking about getting people to have to ID every few days or even every month. Picky people may notice the subtle signs and go see an ID sooner than others. Others may ignore it till they are rolling down the street on their stomache since its not a game mechanic, just a visual effect. Its a good balance because it doesn't FORCE the player to do anything if they don't want to, they can continue to play the game. If they are interested in how their toon looks though (as most of our patrons are already) they would come to us for a little weight reduction. This could also be seen as a SLIGHT nerf to Chef foods. Not in that it would lower their effects (again, game mechanics are not effected) but in that one must be more carefull about the amount of foods they consume (come on like chefs aren't making enough money anyway :-) ). Maybe even the amount of filling in the food they consume would determine how fast this weight gain is. If it became a large market, we could charge fairly cheap prices for simple weight loss (I don't even know what you all charge) plus its sorta like a sale item in a store. It gets them to 'shop' in your store. "Why not get a facial while you are here?".

Ok those are my ideas just tossing around. Please, constructive criticism. I like being and ID very much and I would hope you could give reasonable suggestions, nothing like "Oh wow that sucks you moron". Thank you for your time.

Wow impressive list There was a lot in there so let me comment on a few that I can give you feedback on.

Mixing up facial hair and hairstyles does come up occasionally as an idea, if and when the devs approach me about wanting to make some new hairstyles I'll definitely bring up those ideas as they would give a sense of newness without necessarily needing new art. But what do I know

We asked about being able to raise or lower height and torso size beyond hte current limits and those were nono'd by LucasArts

Big butts are a top five wish list item (for this community anyway) however should it ever happen it would be very art intensive as it would require every single piece of clothing that goes over the butt area being tweaked by the art team. Other body adjustments would likely be as troublesome, and I may be wrong, but probably not as popular wish list wise as bigger butts That may change though.

Look decay is controversial. One worry is how it has gone with coloring vehicles and droids. We may lose some customers if they have to keep coming back to maintain their look. Gaining weight was definitely an unpopular idea when it was discussed, ID's didn't want people to resent them.

Anyway hope this didn't all sound doom and gloom, just giving some feedback There are a ton of things we would all love to see, but dev time alloted to us is very limited of course.
