Thread: ID becoming respectable prof.

Those of you who has read my other posts will know that I am speaking in favour of the Stat migration. Simply because I truly think that it was a badly needed feautre for Imagedesigner to be a part of the overall game. Its an old story.. People dont like changes if changes are not gaining them directly, and therefore a change like this where something that was free became a service that there isa market price for will apply reactions like the ones that we see.. And those who complains are always MUCH more visible than those who are ok. And I am conviced that apart from the 10-12 regualr people posting against itin here+ the hologrinders whoare frustrated aboutthis change cause they can not do ID fast most people think it is OK (not perfect.. not something to celebrate but ok).. and they will get used to it. For IDs it is a treassure. Something that shoudl have been celebrated.

The reason why I say this.. is cause I nearly never meet problems when Im in Theed doing theese things.. Imagedesigners I meet are happy about it. Finaly Imagedesigners are not just a useless profession doing nothing else than giving people a new hairstyle.. They matter in the game. They are a part of it.. Like everyone else. Before no one needed IDs.. Now they do. And that is in my opinion great for IDs. The only thing that could have been reduced are the timer. And I have said it many times the XP gain is to weak for up and comming IDs.. therefore there are now to few IDs and the preassure on those who are.. can sometimes be large. But I can tell you all this..

Try to be a doc. Sit and buff and see how exiting it is... when 10 people sends tell at once... asking for a buff.. asking what is the price and stats... complaining.. being angry cause you dont instantly reply... getting upset because one in the line got in before... Then suddenly someone tip you 50k to be in before all others creating a lot of trouble and chaos. Then you end up buffing a overt cause you dont notice in the chaos.. and you get killed by an oposite overt.etc.. I have a doc/tka on one server and a ID/tailor on another.

In the days and weeks before the minipublish I rarely found other imagedesigners around bestine, theed etc.. Just the grinders. Now I see 3 or 4 much more often than before. So undoubtfully it is positive. I have spoken with all the IDs I meet also. And they are positive. I alsomeet a lot of new players who really badly wants to be an imagedesigner (read BE.. not just master it in the hologrindingnightmare).

It was not like that before. Very few IDs around. So I do belive that ID profession is now getting stronger. Sometimes you just have to shake the bottle a bit.. then the ones who did not mean much about it falls of and the dedicaded are left back. There will be new IDs comming people come, people go thats the way it has always been and will always be.The big problem now is the XP gain. If that had been fixed there would be a lot more Imagedesigners and the preassure put up on those who are around would be less. Now I dont think it should be much easier.. and there should be a sort of timer.. But a solution would be like someother person mentioned to give more things like hairstyels etc.. and rearange it so that even low level IDS had something that people wanted. But the novice ones.. use your TAG!!! and statmigrate people!!! then when you do that.. suggest other changes aswell.. you will be surprised!manypeoplein the game are nice people who actually talks..

Somepeople talk like being a Imagedesigner is the worst thing in the world for them... telling Im leaving etc.. Well those who really love this profession dont leave. I love it and I will never leave. Many of my friends on the server will never leave either. They love being a part of the game like never before...

Now IDs are respected. Needed.

No doubt that new hairstyles, new tatoos etc.. would be most welcome.. And I sincerely hope we will see changes like that.

No, I really wouldn't say we're respected, by and large... needed, yes, but grudgingly. Respected, not by a long shot. Why? Because most people labor under the delusion that WE are responsible for getting stat migration changed. We're being blamed for the whole thing, and to add insult to injury, we dare *gasp* CHARGE for the service.

I've been a doctor. Hated it.I dropped it to do ID. And this was before the patch. I have never, EVER considered myself to be a 'useless' profession, and I take extreme offense to that word as pertains to image design, pre-patch or post-patch. The people who came to me for a new look didn't think I was 'useless'.

This patch took a lot of the fun of ID out for me. And I HATE that, because this has always been my favorite profession. I've actually been considering re-mastering doctor... that's how much I don't enjoy ID anymore. And that depresses me.

Shadow,

I'm glad your experience has been positive. But for many of us it has been anything but positive. I would agree with Fuschia that we are now needed by a segment of the player base that in general never would have seen an Image Designer, but respected, no, not any more than we were before.

The people who respected us before still do. They people that didn't still don't. The people that never thought about us at all now in many cases RESENT us. To me, that is not a step in the right direction at all as far as having fun goes.

Hi!

I agree with you Cereah, and my general feeling as a everyday working imagedesigner has been that most people I meet out there that are Ids like the changes and get more work out it. But the most visible ones in here are those whocomplains a lot about statmigration. Reading all posts previously posted the forum I now realise that there are more persons that are positive toStatmigration then people against it.. but the ones who dont like it post again and again.... (like I do now lol)

And offcourse those who enjoys the changes normally will not post anything.

I myself are online 2-3 hours everyday and It is great fun. And much better now than before. The tents are great to. Feels like we have our own place for it.. Just like the cantina for dancers.. Always customers waiting. And harasments.. Ive had only 1!!!

The ID will be stronger in the months and years to come as all the new players that arrives are used to the fact that IDs does the migrations.

Many of us who post here are NOT against IDs having stat migration. Our issue was that the method used to migrate those stat is about as unfun as you could possibly get withoutbeing intentionally cruel. I believe I can confidantly say that none of us have an issue with IDs keeping the ability to stat migrate, we just want some behind the scenes game mechanics tweaked so it is not quite so obviously "forced downtime".

I am probably one of the people who complains about stat migrations a lot, but my *main* problem is that stat migration has really become the job and the parts that I find are fun are just a minor treat now. Stat migration is almost compeltely non-interactive and non-creative and those were the two most appealing aspects of image design to me. Sometimes you can convince people to get some real ID work done while they wait for the stat migration to finish, but more often than not they just go AFK for 10 minutes. They are really not that interested in what they look like.

I am still staying an image designer. I love it too much to give it up so easily! But I find myself IDing less often and I am a lot more selective about my customers now. Also, if I have to go to the tent for some reason, I usually switch down to my "Hairstylist" title so that I just look like one of the grinders in the tent (for some reason this doesn't fool some people, though) where I used to proudly wear my MID title everywhere!

After two weeks living with stat migration as ID, all I have to say is that I'm happy with it.

I usally spent 1 or 2 hours in the Theeh tent every weekday. I'm getting a lot of fun and customers. Most of them are polite. Sometimes I have queues of 4-5 players they wait chatting or doing others things, without troubles. Sometimes a custumer don't agree with my stat migration price (50k forpeople who comes in with composite armor), then they left and I continue working.

I can't talk about experience, I was Master ID before the mini publish.

Sure the stat migration system can be upgraded. Maybe we could set the new stats while the timing is counting down, asking the costumers and helping them in good stats combination.

I'm happy with the changes and getting ID, and with getting stats migrations, I've do lots of them, some funny some boring. I like helping players explaining to them what those stats are for and what stats are more interesting for each profesion or playstyle.

Lot of people complaining about how stat migration is implemented seem they don't want it.

In my opinion devs do a right step but they should continue making it more fun.
