It's not possible. you have to delete the character and make a brand new one, sorry.

ID can change all but name, race and gender.

I will not lecture on the transferal of accounts and the EULA, that is Sony's job. However, I will say that if the account had a Jedi char, think carefully before deleting. IF you delete the main, and then something happens to the Jedi, you are outa luck.

When you are closing shop on SWG, remember that you ignored the REAL community to cater to an alpha class that assured this game would never be "balanced."

This was a question at the Roleplaying Forum at FanFest. The short answer is no, SWG will never allow you to change your last name, because if it did it will be appearing topersonally endorseanymarriage ceremony's that may occur.

The wayunity rings work allow certain marriages that the Legal department of LucasArts and SOE feel is too contentious for them to be seen as standing behind. Draw your own conclusions.

Wouldn't itbe cool if *last* names could be changed, like for marriages and such?

Oddly enough, when we presented this idea earlier we were told that the internal code uses full (first + last) name as a character identifier, so changing names would be impossible. Based on anecdotal evidence I believe this to be true—something about a jedi having to redo professions to unlock after having his name changed by a CSR. But now we're being told it's for legal reasons…geesh. Can't they even get their stories to be consistant? Code-reasons sound a lot less assinine than legal reasons. After all, face it, the rings let you do it, you're already endorsing it.

Well, the code reason is there, but there's no attempt as far as I'm told to change that. They *could* fix the code. They *can't* fix the marriage issue. I think the code reason is a bit of an excuse.
