Did they do something to the age option recently? I know that in the past I could change how old people look, but when I try it today ot is barely noticable if it does anything at all.

I think one of the reasons no one has answered yet is that most of us might not have the video cards that support the option. So I would assume that despite having the skill, a master wouldn't be able to see the changes.
This would make it hard to 'test' to see if something weird has happened.

Bleah. Okay, here's the deal as far as I've observed it. Age depends very much on lighting. Age 1 is very, very subtle. If you have your personal light on and you're in front of your client, facing them you won't notice the change. Age 2 is slightly less subtle, but again, with the personal light on it's going to blend. Age 3 makes them look like a nightsister. If anyone actually wants this…well, okay, I did it to myself for RP fun once…but other than that…
(I figured that triple-dose of disease from visiting the Sarlacc would probably make me look a little the worse for wear, wo while I was waiting for a medic to show up an assuage the symptoms…I made myself look terrible

It depends on your video card? I have a very good card, but when I upgraded my computer a week or so ago I also uograded to the latest drivers. Maybe that is the problem. Right the slider seems to do nothing at all. I thought that it might have something to do with lighting or my light skincolor, so I changed both of these and still no changes. I will try the previous drivers to see if I can use that option again.

It should say, 'Right now the slider seems to do nothing at all'. I wish I had an edit button.

To give you a general idea of what each level looks like, at least on my system (Athlon XP 2400+, 1GB DDR400 dual channel, GeForce 4 Ti4600 AGP8X 128MB dual head)
- Age 0: you know what that looks like
(13-35ish) - Age 1: Subtle crow's feet at the corners of the eyes, very slight weathering to the face. (35-50ish)
- Age 2: More pronounced crow's feet, subtle wrinkling in the cheeks, more pronounced weathering. (50-75ish)
- Age 3: Very pronounced wrinkling of the entire face, very pronounced weathering. (75+ and looking it!)

This is exactly what I was getting before on an Athlon XP and a Radeon 9500. Now I have an Athlon 64 with the same video card and new drivers and the slider makes no difference at all. I asked another master ID friend to try it and they said that they also saw no difference but it had worked a few weeks ago. That is why I wondered if something had changed or not. Maybe we both have driver problems or maybe it is something peculiar to Lowca.

Hm…the last time I modified age was for Fladrif, which wasn't too long ago. I'll check again tonight and let you know if it still works for me on Kettemoor.

Okay, I'd forgotten to test this last night, but thank god for lunch hours, right? So here's what I found: age is a LOT more subtle than I remember it being. This may be due to a primary HDD failure and resulting driver upgrade…or I may just be losing my mind…but even at age 3 the change wasn't noticeable until I rotated about 45 degrees to the side and viewed it that way. Once I did that all 3 levels were distinct and viewable…but not head-on. Hope this helps…

Hmm... It does nothing for me even at a 45 degree angle. I will have to roll back to the previous drivers and see if it does anything.
