Some of you may have seen similar threads on the other Entertainer forums. You may have seen Ravenmist post that initially Thunderheart asked the Entertainer, Dancer, and Musician correspondents to send him the top ten questions they felt their communities would like answered. I suggested that the ID community might feel like the red-headed step child of entertainment if we were left out, and Thunderheart very graciously extended the invitation to us as well Ours will be answered after the others. I could throw some questions together, but I'd like to get suggestions from you all as well

I'd like you all to please take a look at Tiaga's Entertainer top ten questions list. I'm really impressed with what the Entertainer community came up with

Note that Thunderheart is not looking for our top ten issues, those are being addressed in other ways, but rather our top ten questions for the devs. If you had a dev sitting in front of you what would you be itching to ask about ID? Gear your questions so that they do not just call for a yes/no answer Let's milk our opportunity for what it's worth I may leave some questions out in my final copy based on what I know is in our top five issues the devs are also looking over. Thank you everyone for all of the help you have given me these past weeks, I really appreciate it

Sorry it took so long for me to answer: I had a 4 hour interview yesterday - which was quite pleasant, but my brain was mush when I got home.

  1. Of our wish list changes, which ones would be easiest to implement first? This is including, but not limited to:

    • Adding hairdos, already seen on NPCS

    • Adding hairdos which are modified versions of what already exist (i.e. adapting human hairdos with horns for zabraks, making the "long flowing" male zabrak hairdos available to females)

    • Exotic hair colors

    • Body tattoos

    • A vendor design interface

  2. 6 months after release, what role do you see Image Designers playing? Is our role, in the devs' opinion, considered purely aesthetic or more expansive to include traditional support role aspects (i.e. healing or buffing) or to include ability to "disguise" from imperial npc's?

  3. When can we expect new, functioning lighting to be introduced?

  4. When can we expect an interface with a"zoom in" feature in order to apply makeup?

  5. Of our wish list items, which one (excluding gender changes, adding bosoms to certain races, and going beyond character creation limits, which have been already vetoed) is particularly non-feasible, for technical or artistic/licensing reasons, and explain why.

  6. When are we getting a revamp like chefs, and can we expect any new content before such a revamp?

  7. Many wookiees and other races have retained cross-species hairdos, and, according to reports, cannot be reverted to normal even with csr intervention. What action is being taken to correct this situation?

  8. How high a priority are our bug fixes (i.e. hair color bug, eye angle, freckles on male zabraks andmale twi'leks, "underpants head" on male twi'leks with headdresses) which have been around since launch? If they are difficult to fix, please explain why.

  9. When is the new HAM sytem being implemented, and how will that affect image design?

  10. Will image designers, other entertainer professions, and pure crafters, have an equal shot at performing the quests which will comprise the new road to Jedi?

If I think of anything else.... I'll repost (dang the no edit! Dang it to heck). I look forward to seeing everyone else's questions.

It appears that the ID profession was included mainly just to correct players' mistakes in character creation so that they didn't have to reroll. It was so rarely chosen by the players, it would have been scrapped were it not for this fact. Do the devs recognizethis and plan on fleshing out the skill tree with additional content?

Ok, Image Designers, I know you're out there....

Kwee's poll has shown that there are a lot of fellow image designers who read this board every day, and care deeply about the profession, but rarely post. So far this thread has been viewed over 100 times.

We need your help! Please, if you're an image designer, or you were an image designer, contribute to this thread. We really truly want to hear from you. You can make a difference in the future of the profession!

Imagine, if you will... Thunderheart ascends to the witness stand. He puts his hand on an old-schoolVHS copy of the Empire Strikes Back (THX enhanced, of course), and swears to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Now you're the attorney. Hemust answer your questions truthfully or be held in contempt. What will you ask?

You don't need to come up with 10 questions. Let's start with one. There must besomething you have a burning desire to ask. Even if it's a repeat of someone else's question, say it anyway, so Kwee will have an idea of how many people desire that question to be put forth.

Come on lurkers, help us make this profession better!

I'd been holidng off to come up with a bunch of really good ones, but eh. Whatever. The two I've got formulated so far:

  • What was the original developer vision for ID? Does ID in its current form fit that vision? How do our suggestions mesh with that vision?

  • Many professions in SWG require interactions with other professions to gain the best benefit. ID is currently not dependant on any other professions nor are any professions reliant on ID—is there any intent to change that, and if so how?

Hello Kwee,

My gut feeling of this is that it's just busy work to keep us happy and nothing is really going to come of it. But I could be wrong (and Ihope I am) so here is what I would like to know.

  • On the wish-list items "Temporary Disguises and Party Image Designs" are there any conflicts with other professions plans or technical issues that you know of.

  • Any plans to improve the UI for IDing?

  • What info. if any can you give us on Image Design Buildings?

  • Most of the items on theID wish-list seem like very easy changes, soI'm wondering what besides graphic workhas to be done? Does having more ID options create memory issues or what?

Thank you n'Jessi And yes I should have stressed you don't have to come up with 10 questions, in fact I"ll prob go bananas if everyone does hehe. Even just your top question would really help as I throw together our top ten burning questions for the devs.

My question center around the word when.

When do we get a new meaningful change ,,ie tatoos, more hair colors, more hair styles or something that will revitalize our profession. Minor issues ,,even the hair bug is totally secondary to something new in my opinion.

I applaud the fact that they even included this profession in a mmorpg at all.It just gives more options to the player other then combat.

But.... inquiring minds want to know! Vision? Vision? Was there a vision?

1. Was there a clear vision for the Image Designer profession? IDers seem to be somewhat in a limbo situation here--are we entertainers in that we "entertain" people by providing a purely cosmetic service or are we"crafters of the avatar"? (with the avatar being our resource)

I realize that IDers are in the Entertainer tree, but it seems more of an afterthought actually.Course I would prefer their answer would be the latter--seems to open it up for so much more potential, hehe.

2. Do you envision that Image Designers will play any role at all in this new emphasison the Galactic Civil War?

3. Will there be any craftable items in the future for IDers, such as special creams, perfumes/colognes (as enhancements onlyfor existing skills--mask scent, etc)?

4. Is there a possibility that we would be able to help out the poor merchants with their random looking vendors? Some of them are bad enough to actually scare off potential customers!!
