Image Designer Archive

I'm grinding ID so I have plenty of time on my hands to browse the fora and come up with silly ideas. One of them was that of a Image Designing contest. Now there are only a handful of Image Designers on most servers (at least on mine there aren't many) and so I thought we could organize it on this forum instead, also to give Image Designers from different servers a chance to compete.

The way I see it is that there are different categories. Image Designers can compete in all categories by IDing a character, making a screen shot, uploading it somewhere and posting a link to it here. Then a jury, or team of judges, or just anyone, I haven't thought this part up very well, can decide who's best in each category.

The obvious way would be to make categories like human male, zabrak female et cetera, but I think it would be more fun if there were categories based on something not so obvious, like the profession of the character. Then IDers are more free to think up what kind of image they would like to design to fit the category.

The Achilles' heel of this idea is of course finding people who are willing to let you botch em up, but if you promise to turn em back again afterwards, I'm sure there are some players who wouldn't mind modeling.

I see this contest not as a tailoring contest, so I think whoever judges the screenshots should try to focus on the Image Design alone and not on the clothes.

Well, this is my idea, thought up on a rainy friday evening. What do you say?

It's a neat idea My recommendation would be to network via email on your server until you find a good number of ID's and do it there. Then if you want to expand it to other servers you'll have your voice of experience to give advice and whatnot to any would-be organizers As with any player event, feel free to email me at [email protected] if you'd like to advertise for participants or advertise the actual event

I'm in if this ever gets started. I'm a veteran master ID on Sunrunner and VERY competitive when it comes to ID work! Let me know the details when this gets started. I would suggest that all models be in their underwear, you can do awesome ID work onthe body as well! (at least I can )
