I was wondering how many people have mastered ID since they introduced the new UI system.
I am on Ahazi, tried to do it myself, but gave up, and have yet to find a post-change MID. I flew to every city with a tent everytime I logged in for two days, and couldnt find ANY master IDs. This made me decide to do a little math.
Tailor, without a macro and only 3 crafting tools, takes 24 hours of 'grinding' to master. I personally used a macro and 5 crafting tools, it took me 14 hours. I have seen macros that used 12 tools.
Image Designing, on yourself, takes 107 hours to master. On others, 53 hours. Thats doing eye changes which give the most exp besides stat migrations. Stat migrating your way to master would take 67 hours. Now, since you will never have a steady stream of people that want eye changes or stat migrations, you are definately going to spend over the 53 hour minimum to get master ID.
It seems a little backwards to me that a proffession that can only make a profit from being logged in and actively working takes at least 3 times as long to master as a proffession that can throw up factories and a vendor or two and make TONS of money overnight, logged in or not.
Anywoodles, I thought I'd share this with you all, and ask anyone who has mastered after the prof change to tell me
Thanks,
Jadis

I mastered Image Design after the revamp, and I have enjoyed every minute of doing the job. It was probably one of the worst grinds, as I was able to master Teras Kasi in about 14 hours of play, whereas, per your appropriate estimates, it probably took 50 to 60 hours of play to master image designer, which included having someone to grind on most of the time.
Regardless of how long it takes, I think SOE has realized that it is far outside the bounds of any other profession, and from what I last remember, Thunderheart is working on getting the timer on stat migrations reduced to something which will bring Image Design back into the realm of other non-combat professions regarding the time to master it.
So...there are those of us who mastered after the revamp. I know I'm not the only one.
My two creds,
Dan

I mastered after the rewamp. Basically, you can look in the thread with all the image designers ( I'd like to be added to the NEW "ID's Listed by Galaxy" list) and see who joined _after_ the publish. Presto, you have your answer.

I mastered ID after mini-publish 8.1 and did it not just once, but 6 times. I also have a 7th character that is a Novice ID who I plan on getting to Master as soon as I can free up the skill credits.
My IDs:
- Bria: Ssumidra (Trandoshan MID)
- Corbantis: Sepia (Mon Calamari MID)
- Eclipse: Lhyris (Bothan Novice ID, 4/3/4/4 Musician, Master Dancer)
- Lowca: Elistra (Zabrak MID)
- Intrepid: Dar'yia (Rodian MID)
- Scylla: Miyax (Wookiee MID)
- Tempest: Lu'fra (Rodian MID)
P.S. At present, it appears that I will not be able to get Lhyris to MID until after I have unlocked my second character slot on my other account. My other character on Eclipse (Aklaq) has completed the first FS Quest and is currently grinding xp and waiting for the next village phase... andI'm still peeved that there is no way for a pure crafter or entertainer to qualify for the Old Man's visit.

I mastered it after the revamp but before they gave 2000 pts for SM. It was a royal pain!I love being a MID, but sometimes I have to turn off my title because either I get too many tells or (heaven forbid) I want to try something else, like a guild event.
Just for giggles, I leftmy titleon while doing Jabba missions. I thought it would be kinda funny seeing an MID running around, doing mission(btw, battle droids rock!). I couldn't help but laugh at how many players wanted emotes! But then again, when you're at a rave like Jabba's, you have to do all you can to make yourself an original!

Mastered it after the revamp, just last week. It took me about 10 days of hard work total. Sometimes a friend would run an accept macro and let me practice, sometimes I'd just do eyes solo, but most of the xp was done on customers.
There were also 2 or 3 others grinding with me at the same time.
Wasn't too bad after all. Only thing that made me sad is when a pre-nerf master ID comes in and brags that she mastered it within 2 hours....

What's sad is not that they mastered ID in 2 hours, but that they think it's something to brag about.

I began to work on ID the day after the patch for the pleasure (or pain) of being an Image Designer... mastered the professionwith some diligent work after 3 weeks... dropped it a month later because I got sick of migrating stats and being cussed at.

Mastered ID in about a week. It was a real pain
Make sure you have friends that you can spam to pass time
Dropped it a few days afterwards because my goal of being able to make myself fat and short then dance in an exotic leotard in the middle ofa crowded cantina was achieved

I'm still working on it. It's been over 2 weeks and I'm 4004 ID now after so many hours of the mind numbing grinding.
I'm sticking with it, but it's silly that I'm spending more time doing something else outside of the game to keep myself busy and entertained while doing stat migrates for experience.
