Thread: Dear god, is this the ID forum or an extension of the trade forums??

more"looking for.." threads here than you can shake a stick at.
Anywhoo, I got an idea that would make image designers do something else than tedious stat migrations.
How about letting ID's be able to paint portraits of scenery, npc's and player characters.
How cool would it not be to have a picture of yourself standing next to the emperor or something like that?

We're personal trainers, plastic surgeons, tattoo artists, and expert hairstylists.
Painting would fit under artisan (or apparently architect.) I can style your hair, dance to a beat, and even play a note or two, but unless if I have lines and coloring numbers I can't paint a thing!

well i think that is a cool idea
I went to drawing and design school and one of the follow up courses was hair cutting/styling so it makes sence...
Anyway I would love to be able tomake picktures of people... but i think it should have a timer thats realy high like 30+min...

Why the insane timer? Are you suggesting I should read a book for 30 minutes while my character is painting a portrait of someone who wants snap shots of his Lokian safari?
Anyway, it'll never fly, because it'll be hell on the servers(some other guy explained why the last time this topic came up, but I forgot)

First off We are "Image Designers" I always seem to get into a rant at people referring me just as a beutician. We should be able to design images in more ways than just personal appearances. Follow link in my signature for my detials on that.
Second the Paintings idea has been brought up before and it wont work because. Everything in the game is Art and its sent to you with each new update, every person must have the same art files for it to work, and each time you would create a portrait it would create a new file that would have to be patched to everyone on every SWG server. They may pop in on your server and stumble across your painting. Think how long Patches would take cause you know everyone would want unlimited amounts of portraits of themselves.
Why not just take screenshots and post them on a personal website
