Thread: Just a funny observation. (amidala's bodyguard)
My brother and I have this ongoing thing where we take games like SWG or CoH and try to apply the "rules" to movies and the like (ie - the chick from sky captain was probably a brawler [good reflexes, strong enough to knock the crap out of the android, rather single-minded...], and sky captain himself was probably a controller[brought together everyone else's work and talents], Hellboy was a tanker [ten nuclear grenades, eh.. this might hurt]and fire chick from hellboy was a blaster ["You should be running"]).
Now, SWG is especially fun because we can take the SW rules and apply it *back* to the movies. In doing this, I've decided something. Princess Amedala's lookalike bodyguard was a Master image Designer and a master Tailor, with probably only a very little amount of actual fighting ability. Why, you ask? Well. In the first movie, Amidala changes hair style and outfits almost at a whim, which really requires the work of professional MIDers and MT's (considering the complexity of the outfits)who are on call all the time. You hardly ever see the look alike body guard actually fighting. Amidala herself has to have a high Politician score (obvious reasons), backed up with a carbine specialty (she uses a carbine in one of the movies, I can't remember which) and probably was a sharp shooter. After all, in those shoot outs, she scored more hits than her "guards" seemed to. To further back this theory up… the bodyguard dies at the beginning of the second movie and all of a sudden, Amidala herself stops randomly changing outfits and hairstyles and make up.
In-game, there are IDers out of the *** in Theed (on Kauri), but not so much anywhere else. Theed is just… crazy for IDers. So, it’s not too surprising that she could find one who could make herself over to look like Amidala and then join the service of the Queen. What puzzles me is the amount of time the Amidala takes to get another body guard IDer, since she *obviously* could just walk down to the salon in theed and snag a new one (never mind that we don’t have the option to do her make-up or hair anything like as elaborate and hers was… come to think of it, some of those outfits that the people are wearing in the movies would be nice as Tailor designs in game...).
Lol, I know, weird, I just thought I'd share my weird sense of humor.
.....
And *why* do we have zoom boxes for the text colors on the message posts when those boxes are flat out huge, when we don't have them for the itty-bitty colors on screen in game?!?
(I know, I know... Java script vs whatever language the game is programmed in... still.)
