Thread: ID Changes
I dropped Image Designer a long time ago but I tried it out to see what kind of dimensions it would add to my gaming experience... and to change my hair colour ![]()
I found it wasn't as much fun as it could have been, but I had some nice times in Theed's ID tent talking through the walls to the at-keyboard entertainers. I recall going to Coro and finding it was a bit of a /tell hell there, not like having a doc tag but along those lines, and I was amazed because in a few hours in Theed you'd be lucky to gethalf a dozen customers. Hence most of my time advancing in the profession was spent IDing a friend who was kind enough to log on and auto-accept the changes. However, the idea of professions isn't just to sit there and max your stats and master immediately, so rather than sit in there all the time until I'd spent enough ID hours getting master, I continued to play the game. The frustrating thing was though that the best xp was abtained through a grinding technique - actually having a customer come into a tent, or somebody out and about asking for changes was an extremely time consuming and often low-xp exercise. The timers were very restrictive so when I eventually did master it I figure I must have done most of the xp work on a friend, clicking the necessary buttons whilst watching a film or something, which kind of saddened me that I played the game like that.
My biggest dissappointment with the profession was the lack of changes available... I forget how many hair styles you could choose, I know you had a massive colour palette to choose from but still I felt there could have been 10x as many styles. That would have made things really interesting. I felt it would be nice to have the xp stack on certain changes. Perhaps the ID community would feel different, but I could handle the timers and I found that when legitimate customers came in, they wanted many things changing, and that in less time I could have had more xp from IDing my friend on auto-accept. I don't like the grinding approach at all - so I felt I deserved to get more out of it for doing legitimate changes.
Profession: Image Designer
- Cosmetic change timer has been changed from 2 minutes to 1 minute.
- Body change timer has been changed from 5 minutes to 2 minutes.
- Stat Migration timer has been changed from 10 minutes to 4 minutes
- Master IDs can now make Body and Cosmetic changes to themselves outside of the ID salon without incurring a timer.
That's some mega changes to the ID profession... the fourth bullet point is a real positive one, however the others will make grinding through it quite easy and I'm not sure this is what the ID communitywould really have wanted - still, nice for anyone trying it for the first time.
Has probably been discussed lots on here already, just thought I'd add some of my own thoughts, if anyone is interested.
