I'm Human.

1. Do you get different hair styles than the defaults to choose from?

2. What would you recommend for hair?

3. How dark can you make hair? Can you make it black or just a very dark brown?

4. Can you modify the character like on the character creation screen and then some? In other words are all the same options on character select available to you as well?

1) yes! Unfortunately many of the new styles for male humans are quite hideous. The new ones for females are rather nice. Pix are available at http://swg.warcry.com/index.php/content/image_design

2) Pick the one that works for you. See above link.

3) There is a black. Some think it looks dark gray. It's your call.

4) Masters have all character creation abilities (and not much else). Some things, however, are bugged. Freckles on male humans may still be bugged, but can probably be fixed by using code. Besides the additional hairdos, there are no "new" features outside what is available at character creation: no weird hair colors, no extreme height, no giant "torso", no nail polish, no makeup for men, NO BODY TATTOOS, etc.
