I've seen some wookies with mohawks. Is this accepted by the devs or would they make you change it?

The ability to give inter-species hairdos was caused by an exploit that has been fixed. Although the programmers attempted to retroactively return players to normal if they had illegal hairdos, many players did not get changed back and retain their illegal hairdos. I don't think there is currently a way to change it back, even with CSR assistance.
