Thread: The Galactic Council of Master Image Designers on Wanderhome

This is the price guide made by the Galactic Council of Master Image Designers. Not all image designers are in this council, there are many requirements you have to meet and a code of conduct you must follow. An invitation was sent out a few times on the Wanderhome boards to meet last eve over the course of the last week. If you wanted to input your suggestions for the guide, last eve was your chance. We had a very big turnout, and with the exception of Shulari, many of the master ID's I have grew up with came to the meeting.
The council was designed so that all image designers are on the same page to promote healthy competition without the grief of pricegouging clients and undercutting your fellow designer community. Some of us old school designers like myself, had no one to pay for thier training and slaved without macros all in the name of learning thier profession correctly and with experimentation. We the council represent a particular breed of person that cares for our fellow designers and our clients. Mind you not being on the council does not make you uncaring, just unaware that there is a council.
Some features of the council:
1.) A Price Guide: Who wouldn't want to have one? It's easy and ensures you are properly paid for your hard work and time.
2.) Referral Program: If by chance a designer's regular client does not wish to travel to the designer's home planet, the designer can refer thier client to a certified talented council member. The referred designer will perform the work and get paid as normal with a 15% referral fee tipped to the referring designer. This program has been very successful and stimulates new clientele to lesser known image designers trying to make a name for themselves.
3.) Advertising: All designers on the council are ad-barked during busy days when clients just dont have time to wait for the other 10 people ahead of them. It provides alternate solutions four our clients' busy schedules. The council will be given a list of all our council members for the purposes of the referral program and our advertising perk.
4.) Community: We all back each other and provide assistace on busy days, information on how to be a better designer and marketer for ones' self. We provide financial aid and training. We provide resource assistance. But most of all we provide friendship and peace of mind that will allow you to flourish in your profession without having to worry about Joe Holocroner or Jane Undercutter stealing clients from you. Our clients are well respected influential members of the Wanderhome Community who recognize our talent and value.
Now you may be asking yourself now, "Gee that's pretty cool I supoose, how do I become a member?" Becoming a member is easy, contact myself or Biana. We will evaluate you to ensure you are a mature, patient, responsible, honest and caring individual to both your fellow designer and client. Upon which time you are placed on the galactic council list. You will then be issued the price guide as well as the locations of other council members businesses.
You may also be telling yourself right about now, "Screw Lady China, I'll charge for free or ask for tips only, I don't need them,and the people will love me..." While no one forces you to be a member, as it is your right to be a rogue designer, we believe that in a community you would be more happy and more prosperous. We also understand that you may not realize what your actions do to teh rest of the community who worked hard for thier profession and wish to make a career out of it. By charging nothing or just tips, as talanted as you may be, you are stealing from someone who could use the credits for thier profession. Many of us on the council are NOT combat templates. We are souly entertainers who specialize in design to better service our clients. Design is the only way most of us make credits. If you can live with that on your conscious, what does that say about your personality? What does that say about how you really feel about your clients?
We the Galactic Council of Master Image Designers are your community, not your enemy. Together we can all prosper with respect to both our fellow designer and our client. The word galactic anything sends shivers down my spine, and not the good kind!
I don't charge for my services, because I don't feel the need to amass wealth, never have.
