Thread: Anyone else feeling left out?

I know we got attention with our very own minipublish (eight months ago?), but is anyone else starting to feel left out of the rest of the game?

The new forum skin is just a reminder to me of how, even though ID's are wedged in the Entertainer classes, we're not really associated with Entertainers. When ideas were requested for Entertainer missions, this really came down to Dancers and Musician missions -- everything I and other peoplesuggested for ID's was deemed too hard on the databases or otherwise impossible to implement. When TH's Tuesday Tips came out about a week and a half ago, it was on how to use /register to find Entertainers. I asked if we were getting a /register ability at some point, too, since we were Entertainers, with our own buildings, and were harder to find than Jedi. Despite support shown in the thread, TH responded to posts before and after mine, and didn't acknowledge the question.

Thank you to our StealthDev for our updated UI, and our color palettes, and our holoemotes, thank you for our toys (and the brown hair bug fix), but stuffed secretly away in my salon, I don't feel like I'm playing the same game as everyone else any more, and I'm starting to think no one cares.

I feel a bit isolated in the tents, but I am not sure that further dev attention would help integrate us. I think a lot of issues are coming together now, including server population shrinkage due to mass exoduses to other games.

Keep in mind that alot of the work to give us 2 more races in JtL was specifically ID and tailor related. Nearly everything else was for general use. As far as the professions go, we have been better off than most as far as having our issues tended to. Talk to the DEs, Smugglers, CHs and SLs and see if you still feel left out.

OK, forgot DEs got some JtL love but, the point still stands.

I know what you mean and how you feel. But if you look at other professions... like lets say our fellow entertainers/dancers/musicians just to name one... we are pretty well off.

And the lack of new content is not only a problem for us IDs... it's a problem of the whole game and the devs know about it... that's why they hired quite alot of new folks (and some very good folks, too). It still will take some time until we will see the effect of this in game, but I can say that it allready started to have some positive effect. As we all know, impossible things will be dealt with at once... only wonders will take some time ...

Yes, I know, this is a rather un-satisfactory answer, but atleast there is some more hope now.

Were there ID-specific things for JTL? I only got to play with an Ithorian, but Ithorian stuff seemed the same for an MID as it was for character creation, and I've never gotten my hairy hands on a Sullustan in-game.

I'm not saying by any means that we're the worst off. Smugglers definitely got the short end. It's just that since our updated palattes the better part of a year ago, I get the impression that people are still thinking "We've dealt with ID's, let's move on." But if the CU is supposed to help, that's good.

In the meantime, how about a quest for Wookiee braids?

got a sullustan the other day ... very similar to mon cal. but the ithorians have the center and side beards, the trunk protrusion, width, ect ... lots of new stuff for the ithorians.

just the creation of 2 new species to "play around" with in the world of imaging was an extreme treat. There werent very many existing professions that were effected at all by JTL.

A couple of months back there were some ideas on how to help the Entertainment community become a little more cohesive. Here aresome of those posts:

Remember not to Necro those--it would be awful to see a 3-month old thread lurching around at the top of the forums! I just thought the ideas expressed there might help stimulate some new ones here for this thread.

I'm a Musician/ID on Infinity and a Rifleman/CH on Chimaera!! If I had a Smuggler character (now there's an idea for Farstar...) I'd have a nice set of characters that have been overlooked in favour of others. It was nice that we got the new GUI and the nice new colours and stuff and it was nice to have the extra musical tune and the mounts (now that has been awhile!!) but yeah overlooked? Under appreciated? Under Valued? Yeah, I would say so, but so could many others in the game. I really don't think complaining is getting people anywhere (unless you Jedi - why are they in the game anyway?) and frankly I think our energy is best used elsewhere - where that would be? Constructive posts? Perhaps.

Shame the top 5 issues appeared to have died off somewhat, we need to get this going again for all professions, bi-monthly would be nice as every quarter(?) is a bit lame, i can appreciate the amount of work that goes into a project such as SWG (or any other MMO) and i'm not asking for instant results, as i'm sure most people aren't either, but bi-monthly top five's and monthly comments from TH on each profession would be welcome.

This concept hasn't died out at all. JTL has delayed the last set a bit, but it's time for a new call pretty soon. The devs don't forget about them either. It's with the military in this case: No battleplan survives first contact with the enemy... and here the enemy is called 'reality' (or some name it Murphy)... Atleast our top-most issue got dealt with and that's again more than all professions can say about their lists.

You quote the whole post
I'd have just hacked that line out

Anyway, thanks for putting my mind to rest that the top 5 haven't been forgotten aboutand yeah, at least we did get our numero-uno priority sorted out which, as you pointed out, is more than what the other have gotten.

I think it's a wonderful idea to have us registered on the map, but I also think we should have the option of setting up our own personal salon tent in our player cities. I understand that we dont actually have to be in the tent to provide an appearance change, but like the entertainers, I would like to have, at the bare minimum, the option to have something unique to my profession, like the cantinas and theaters for the entertainers.. Also, how many times have friends asked to have a stat migration done while at your city, and having to travel to a far away salon to get it done.

Just a few thoughts, not that the Devs care one way or another... *sigh*
