I just had an idea and if someone has already had it sorry to repost. Here goes.
Ok for player bounties ( oh and i think they should widen them and by that i mean more than just Jedi dont go off on that its just my opinion ) after a bounty has been issued on a player they could go to an Image Designer and depending on how extreme the changes they get done it would make it harder to find untell the BH went back and rechecked with his spynet operative. Again this could be a way to widen the use of ID make it a viable profession other than for just when you want to change your look. Plus it would widen the BH profession, and could open the door to widen Player Bounties to other than just Jedi. /shrug just an Idea i hope the Devs look at this and take it too heart. What do you all think?

Yes, this idea is coming up here more or less regularly, but it's nonetheless a good idea. I think if the devs will ever add something like playerbounties (beside Jedi bounties) they will consider this option, too.
And I will definitly don't forget to remind them about it

not like it would be THAT hard. here is what i think ...
On character screen we have several options ... we can choose our profession to be displayed, and we can choose our status to be displayed. ie "Noobie Helper" "AFK"
Why not introduce an active status display system.
Options would include:
"PvP"
"Faction PvP"
"Bounty"
PvP - Would take place of having to use the duel function when you are out looking for a fight and would allow you to be ganged up on or gang up on others. This would also be very beneficial in tournaments to eliminate using "last man stating" so that you dont have to worry about everyone dueling and accepting duels from everyone else. Of course the duel function would not be obsolite, as some ppl only want to fight with friends, not just any tom or harry that comes along. Now, the way this would work is this ... I turn on the PvP. I can turn off my PvP at any time EXCEPT ... if I am under attack or incapacitated. As well, I must wait 5 minutes after any attack before being allowed to turn the PvP off. You can only be attacked by other players who have th PvP system enabled.
Faction PvP - This would work similarly as the Overt/Covert mixed with the aforementioned PvP system. The only difference between using the Faction PvP and being Overt would be that you would not gain/loose any faction in the battles. The difference between the Faction PvP and the aforementioned PvP systems would be that you could only be attacked by members of the oposite faction with the Faction PvP enabled.
Bounty - This would require a lot more work and restrictions. Once enabled, your name would go onto the Bounty Hunter Terminal. You would not be able to disable the bounty until the bounty has been collected or defended. This would require a 2 sided mission. Here it goes ... /deepbreath ...
Sam checks his "Bounty" in his character screen.
Sam is added onto the Bounty Hunter Terminal.
Sam changes his mind and decides not to be a bounty as such tried to disable the bounty box. Whoops ... he cant. Okay, lets let this thing play out.
Bob the Bounty Hunter is looking for a job.
Bob doesnt know Sam, but hey, its the highest paying mission at the time so he accepts it.
It takes Bob 3 days to track Sam down but he finally finds out that he is currently at the Theed starport.
Fortunately, Samand his group arein line for abuff, as they are getting ready to go out hunting.
Now, since Sam is the bounty, and Bob has the job, they will automatically be attackable to each other, showing up on the radar as red dots. And since Sam is grouped with 4 of his friends, Bob shows up red and attackable to them too.
At this point Bob has a few options. Seeing that he is obviously outnumbered, he could port out and wait to see if he can catch Sam alone at another time, or he can hope that no one has managed to get buffs yet and go in guns blazing.
Bob chooses the latter of the two ... guns blazing.
Sam and his friends take Bob out in a matter of seconds. Bob is dead /mourn.
Now, what happens to the mission - Normally a mission would stay in your datapad until it is aborted or completed. However, since this is a two-sided mission, the mission will show as "Mission Failed" and would dissapear (kinda like what happens if you get your @$$ handed to you on a space mission).
Now, since Sam has successfully lead the BH into a failed mission, he will get a system box where he will need to type in Yes or No asking if he would like his name relisted on the BH Terminal.
If he choses "yes" the bounty box on his char screen will stay checked and his name will be reinserted into the bh terminal system.
If he choses "no" the bounty box on his char screen will uncheck and that will be the end of it.
Should he chose to be a bounty again in the future, he simply would go to his char screen and check the bounty box again.

While I really like your PVP setting and think it would be a great addition, I dont think the second is needed...unless you just want to compete with faction without losing faction and then Im sure thats all most would do. As for the Bounty it would be an easy way to get a friend and grind your Investigation xp at no cost and make money for nothing.
Oh and as for theoriginal post..as long as it doesnt kill the TEF or the mission...how does the BH tell if they need to revisit the Informant...oh and at the moment revisiting the informant does nothing besides give you a mouth full about getting to the bounty. Not sure that this wouldnt break a system whos past has been troubled at the very least.
Idont mean to sound like Im against player bounties or having an ID change the marks appearance to make it more fun and chalenging, I just think it should require some feedback to the BH so we know what needs to be done.
