Greetings,

I am trying to collect details and enough information to gather into a report to hand to the developers for a Idea that I've submitted.

The proposed Idea is Customize kits for the House/PA halls

The purpose of these kits wouldbe to change the color(s) and details of the walls inside the House or Halls.

The problem I find and see when I try to place furniture or from when people talk to me is they find it a battle with the walls. Looking at the Home show pictures one thing stands out is the wall or the floors or the roof. I suspect people in the SWG would be able to put up wall paper or something like such.

Now how this concerns you is. One I kind of view image designers job to be to design peoples home among other things. Plus I propose to make these kits made by ID's and only ID will be able to make them.

Things I would like to ask are.

1. Do you find when designing or Fitting a home that you have to battle with the colors of the house/hall ?

2. Would you want the kits or to be able to change colors/details by a command ?

3. Would you want this or make it for the owners to be able to do it them selfs?

4. If you want the kits would you be happy about having to craft/make these or would you prefer some other way or some other proffession to be able to make them?, if so which?

All feedback would be great,

Thanks in advance.

I would think that such a kit would be an Architect made item and usable by anyone.

As much as I wish we were more Stylist-oriented, I think with the current profession roles, this would be an artisian or architect product. There is probably a way to group all the customization kits and application under ID but, ultimately, we should not have a monopoly on players expression.

I agree. Housing is not really our business. It should stay with the architects.

Nevertheless, I'd like to have such a kit.

Well offically the Architect's role is to design the blue prints for such buildings and the structure of inside. Not the Interior Decor. Such as would be the role of ID. The proffession of Image Designer would be the proffession should it be placed into concept however. It is something to think about

Well perhaps this could be of a way to start turning ID in the direction you want. You already get to design people so why not intiror design.

I am not trying to be contrary but, actually, the architects do make the majority of the interior decor. One title is "interior decorator". While I would like playing a class that is based on handling the majority or all customizations, I think it would take alot away from the players who didn't. I tend tothink that artisians might not like it either.

Architects do structure design, IDs do people design. No offense, but I don't think ID needs a new direction. I think there are ways of expanding the direction we are already travelling. This has been mentioned many times, but, there are disguises, tattoos for more than just Zabrak, vendor IDing and more.

I like the idea of the custom paint kits though... and it would be very appropriate for either an architect or artisan to produce such a thing. I also like the idea of it being useable by any one, much on the same lines as a droid, vehicle, or starship painting tool.

I agree with Kyree and others mentioning this. Currently Architects are those who take care of buildings and that they look nice. There are a few exceptions to the rule, like some of the new loot-schematics, but generally it's the architects who build nice furniture. So if some kind of Structure cutomizazion kit should be implemented, it should be given to them.

And there is really still alot of ideas for us IDs around and I really hope the devs will find the time for some of them.

May the Force be with you all!

I am sure the architects would actually be pretty annoyed if we did get this. I magine if they added piercing and gave it to doctors.

For the record, I really wish players could color their walls, houses, and furniture.

If given to ID -

1. Do you find when designing or Fitting a home that you have to battle with the colors of the house/hall ? YES!!!

2. Would you want the kits or to be able to change colors/details by a command ? Chage by ID command

3. Would you want this or make it for the owners to be able to do it them selfs? No, ID must be given admin to structure and only they could do it.

4. If you want the kits would you be happy about having to craft/make these or would you prefer some other way or some other proffession to be able to make them?, if so which? No kits - ID skill only

However, I have to agree. This should be an item mabye crafted by artisans (since they do the customizations kits already). And it should be used by all players w/o aid or by an arch with "Interior Designer" status.
